Well sometimes I am that guy, but it is never intentional. What normally happens is I am leading the pack and assume people are still following me only to find out to late that six or seven of them took a left at Albuquerque while I continued to my doom.

You can only blame the shinny metal sparkle thingy that has caused an uproar in thier ADHD.

JENNER! GET HIM!

I don't understand that mentality either.

YOU ARE IN A ATLAS, STOP CHASING THAT JENNER.

I watched three Atlas pugs last night chase one raven, and this was not at the end of the game either, this way about 2 min in.

Sometimes I wonder about people's ADHD.

Sorry to say this, but if you're seeing lots of bad players... It's partially thanks to ELO.

I haven't seen a noob in a game in weeks. Not one person I could easily call out as a terrible player. If my games have no bad players in them at all... I'm guessing middling-lower ELOs are jam-packed with them. Particularly if it starts out a new player at "average" level.

See I thought it would be similar to that too. But the previous poster does seem to be correct, that those with a variety of different ELO scores are mashed together, to make each team even.

But he's not. Unless you're suggesting that with a 71-72% win-rate post-ELO (75% pre-ELO and during seeding) and playing against people I recognize as being some of the more well known players in this game would make me the noob on the team.

What I'm suggesting is that if you're near the MIDDLE of ELO, you're going to get both, great players and total noobs who haven't had their ELO determined yet. That's probably what is being complained about here.

I can assure you I'm not getting any bad players in my games (Unless I play at 8AM CST, then I just feed myself kills and wins). And I'm also pretty darn sure I've got a pretty high ELO. Someone else above also mentioned they haven't seen a bad player since ELO went into place. I'd guess they have a pretty high win %.

In short. They're probably new. And if you're anywhere on the spectrum from fairly poor to pretty good, you'll probably get grouped with new people.

Becouse they have little experiance and dont know what to do or they think there going to be a hero soloing 2-6 mechs and winning.PGI needs a trial Vs trial mode for new player exleast for the first week then they can join the regular community in MechStomp Online. Also a short Mech piloting PVE mission or 2 to help them learn the basics almost every other game on the market has one? are you telling me PGI staff are so underskilled they cant do a simple PVE learning mission or 2? Im beginning to beleve from the start there game objectives were to put you in a mech you spend money and thats it so far PGI has shown a shallow attemp at the MEchwarrior IP's longevity.

Yeah, i guess those are just learning. I wish this game had a better command system to direct people (non voice comm)

Reading your comments on this thread, it makes me wonder why experienced players cannot have a more productive and constructive outlook on new players. The new players of today are the experienced vets of tomorrow. It does the game no good if you chase out the new players and belittle them for not playing to your standard. Not everyone has 20 plus years in the franchise.

First rule of pugging, don't expect anything from your team.

My impression is that it comes down to one simple thing: They run out to see if they can maybe take someone down in the process of suiciding. If they do, yay for them - more money. If not, they die and boot up another mech and they rinse and repeat for <drum roll> more money.

You could argue that they're bads but I often see players in min/maxed builds doing this. Farming cbills is the only thing that I can come up with. Granted, most of the players that do something like this but are NOT money farmers are ***** Light mechs (mostly piloting 3Ls) that believe, and sometimes can, blow up a couple mechs single handedly. But that is an arguement for another time on something entirely different than this.

I'd never expect anything per say, but one could hope, and after all, for better or worse, they are your team for that match, so the least you could do is act like a team towards them.

I admit that I'm that guy but usually it was not the the idea. I only have 2 owned mech now and are both slow (around 64 km/h). Usually it happens that there are 5 of us and whe we see enemy I'm the only fool trying to fight. My 4SP only has 4ML and 2 SRM6 so I need to get close and not to stand in the middle of nowhere and wait while half of the enemy team can snipe you or lrm you. Ohh did I mention that I'm slow like hell(for now) so there usually isnt possible to run away.

I've noticed that when I PUG there are almost always at least some painfully incompetent players in the game, and when I play 4 man groups I see almost nothing but other groups and the occasional experienced PUG. Seems to me that when you're not in a group you're likely to be grouped with the lower ranked players solely because all the good teams are full, regardless of your actual ELO.

I believe you're also seeing the effects of grouped-up players being given an effective ELO bump for the purposes of matchmaking. You're in a group, so it groups you against better players.

Sometimes I wander off on my own because my teammates all go into the water, or won't stop hiding behind the ridge in frozen city.

Core me, just don't bore me.
