The first offering from the recently opened GIbson subsidiary office of Free World Defense Industries. This upgrade package currently being sold to Yori Mech' Works to quickly upgrade CPLT-C1s already in production to compete in the Draconis Combine with the new Federated Commonwealth variants. Hollis Incorporated of the Cappellan Confederation has also expressed interest, but the cost of the package nearly doubles the overall cost of the existing CPLT-C1s and is stalled in extended bidding negotiation.
This upgrade addresses survivability concerns of the original CPLT-C1 overall protection has been increased to a massive 13 tons of standard armor. While pilots did not complain about the adequate ammunition capacity the original CPLT-C1 it has been by nearly doubled to 7 tons stored in a C.A.S.E protected magazine in the right torso. CPLT-C1 speed, criticized as being too slow for the support role, has been increased to 73.2 kph easing pilot woes about maneuverability while maintaining the ability to jump 24 meters to better firing positions. 12 Double Heat sinks allows for near continuous firing of the primary armament for it's entire. The strike orientated nature of the mech is reflected sacrificed one of its medium lasers for a T.A.G. laser installed in the same position and addition Artemis IV systems to both LRM 15 launchers means less missles miss, and more hit the target.
A small peaceful protest took place outside the Free Worlds Defense Industries Gibson subsidiary office when technical specification this upgrade were released. Protestors argued that the varient itself was a violation of the Ares Convention, giving a single mechwarrior
seven minutes of continuous indirect fire capability and the ability to guide in artillery strikes the ability decimate more then 5 square kilometers urban environment in with no time to evacuate. Protests of this nature are noted to happen frequently on Gibson due to the planets mulch-cultural population and planetary government tolerant to peaceful demonstrations. The CEO of Free World Defense Industries, A. Liam McNeil, made no comment on the protests.
