Mechwarrior Online's Community needs support from an open and understanding Forum Team.
Instead, the Mods have turned into the Thought Police and even more unfortunately, had their ranks flooded with Goon members via the Volunteer program abusing the system.
MechWarrior. Warrior. Team Battles. Where are they? These Forums are nothing more than complaints about the game and PGI's failings instead of an active, combat Community. Any hint of team warfare for lure/realism sake in a post result in threads either locked, edited, deleted or members getting banned. And then to hide behind a CoC as an excuse...its an absolute sham.
PGI needs to direct its attention on the poor Forum Management. Let us Mechwarriors have an area to act as such, promote our Units and advance the House Warfare Community because it WILL improve PGI/Community relations and overall gaming experience.

I don't get why people associate themselves with a community known for griefing and harassment. (And playing EVE Online apparently).
IMO it's just normal "humans like feeling like a part of something" behavior, and unfortunately, group-think usually tends to result in worse behavior than an individual would usually partake in.
I am honestly interested in why people associate themselves with that group though. Is it that you find their antics humorous? Do they have a hilarious blog or website that attracted you? Because in-game actions certainly wouldn't attract anyone from what I've seen.

How are the mods keeping you from promoting your units? Isn't there a whole forum dedicated to unit promotion, as well as house specific forums filled with recruitment ads?
What does "Any hint of team warfare for lure/realism sake in a post result in threads either locked, edited, deleted or members getting banned." even mean?

Moderators hide behind elephant CoC? The CoC makes the forums suck? I bet the mods lock your CoC-block thread.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Oh wait, never mind it's just another pointless ill-thought out QQ telling pgi how to do their job.
Your tinfoil hat is on back order I'm guessing.

Make a post about how much better your Unit is than another or the results of a match. It's locked, edited or deleted.

Well.. Duh.
What are you planning on accomplishing with a "My unit is better than this unit" thread? (Assuming it's in the appropriate forum.)

Are you calling particular names? That's disallowed, not sure why you're surprised.
Goons at one point were a source of alot of the funny on the internet. As it became more popular though just like with anything the average member became less and less where it's now still got some good members, but trolls also found a safe haven there.
Average goon is a good guy, but prone to trolling. The problem seems to come from the low functioning goons, they go far beyond the bottom of the normal people you run in to on the internet (and that's saying something).

Mr. Truthstar:
We here at the Word of Lowtax can neither confirm nor deny at this time the fact that we have 5 IGP moderators, 3 PGI developers, 2 PGI non-development staff, 4 non-moderator employees of IGP, 10 Battletech Fiction Writers, 3 Battletech Artists, and a partridge in a pear tree (who also squawks).
We here at the Word of Lowtax do appreciate your baseless speculation about the abuse of the Volunteer Program by members of the Word of Lowtax. Perhaps if you like like to provide proof of these claims, we could clear this up very quickly.
OR
You're a terrible poster and should stop posting, as you seem to constantly break the rules of the CoC.
We here at the Word of Lowtax leave it up to you to determine which is the more accurate scenario.
Thank you for your post. We here at the Word of Lowtax realize that you have limited entertainment electrons and appreciate that you're spending your entertainment electrons on us. Please continue to choose the Word of Lowtax in your future electron spending! We are grateful for your out of the box, blue-sky thinking, and appreciate you touching base with us here at the Word of Lowtax. We hope to synergize our efforts to achieve quantifiable paradigm redefinitions in a future collaboration soon.

As for the "thought police" I can't say that I've seen post locked that weren't straight up rule violations/troll posts or they were closed with a "pleas direct your thought/criticisms to the official feedback thread".
