Give Us The Lobbies Already!

We have had threads on this since I joined the beta at the end of June last year.
I'm almost patient in my old age, and can wait a bit for this.
Just don't wait too long, or the bulk of your playerbase will be hoping their senior center has fast internet.
*15 seconds after I log in with a lobby system there will be a room posted.
CZ 1 v 1 bid.
Shortly thereafter a couple of old school mech pilots will be dancing for joy, as they happily blow the crap out of eachother.

pondering around with a "pay to use lobby" system will not be taken up friendly.
Iam willing to buy stuff to use it my league drops.
But Iam not willing to pay in order to be able to league drop.
Especially when the title is free to play!

You get into a match, just like the matchmaker does now, but it give you the opportunity to switch sides (so Davs and Kuritas woun't be on the same team, that really bugs me) and any LW or Mercs can also switch or "be picked" (and there is a weight governor so that you can't overload one side or the other.)
Also with an interface akin to MPBT:3025 was, where you can drop onto planets on the fly and help conquer them if you meet certain parameters (e.g., ya brings yer dropship into orbit with your stable of mechs, and there ya go....)
MPBT3025 : 1999 :: MWO3049 : 2013
That was such a fun game.
Just my 2 c's

Really required:
- Public/private lobbies (private may be for few MCs from who creates the lobby).
- Map selection.
- Game mode selection.
- Min team tonnage and max team tonnage.
- Automatic start for publi lobbies after 2 minutes.
- Commanded start from owner for private lobbies.
- Specific "tournament mode" for events.
- Text file with game report for private lobbies.
Would be nice:
- Disabling specific mechs or items.
- Vote kick from lobby.
- Settings vote for public lobbies, random if not voted.

Seriously, there are some good suggestions here but it seems apparent that the devs are completely aware of the direction they wish to go with any sort of lobby system and have made mention of such. So why all the clamor? Does rattling the cage and hollering to hurry it up, help? ANSWER ME NAOW!!!!

It helps if we got some REAL info on what they plan to do. Especially if the 'direction they wish to go' is total crap.

^^ THIS
They should not try to reinvent the wheel on every little subsystem.
Especially if it was a successfull system that worked for keeping games alive way longer than their sheduled livetime.
Sometimes things are plain good as they are or have been.
I.e. gaming zome lobbies.
I would be absolutly fine with the features the msn gaming lobby provided.

Let half the player base go off and do their own thing - their own tournaments with their own rules etc.
Probably with their own web sites and forums.
Leave the other half of the player base to play normally, except now there is not enough players for matchmaking so their game is screwed. Community warfare is a wash out for the same reason.
PGI should definitely continue to develop and fund a game, and provide infrastructure and servers for a community that actually want to have their "own" community - doing their own thing in their own way. Stopping by the forums once in a while to have a little moan or request some features to help them run their own leagues.
PGI will fund this using magic "fairy gold" which they find at the end of the rainbow.
PGI have stated that lobbies are coming.
PGI have stated that in may not be in the format you want.
However much you moan, features will not come overnight.
Why not take a break for a couple of months and come back for community warfare?
Why not shut up for a ******** second about lobbies and have some patience?
*I am actually being a bit provocative to be devils advocate here. What I am trying to get across is that clearly there is more to be thought about than just making custom matches available as quickly as possible. If you guys stop and think about it for a second then you will see this too. PGI have to make the game as a whole financially successful or there will be NO game. For ANYONE.

I simply don't understand the eagerness of getting lobbies when basic messaging is not even close to competent.

That won't happen.
