I finally get it the massive difference between organised teams and pugging. right off the bat i want to say this is not an insult to pugs as i was a pug from the 3rd day of closed beta until 5 days ago. i know not everyone has a choice when it comes to pugging this isn't about you guys.

the difference is

not the: competitiveness
not the: mechs
not the: play-styles
not the: age
not the: I pay and you don't
not even the coms strangely
i could go on but i wont. make your own up

its the difference is MATURITY

I have only been playing with a team for the past few days and in the scrimmage thing that going on at the moment. we were doing 8 man drops 2 of each weight class. anyway i mostly play lights as its my preferred weight class. but no light spots available for a little bit so i made some new mechs as i have an abundance of CBILLS. made a new Dragon it's fun like a few other backup mechs i now have.

dropped into a pug match after testing grounds in my new dragon and straight away the name callings starts from both sides i took out 4 guys (we still lost) and for some reason I'm a (not very nice word) this guy was on my team......... I now understand the teams vs pug conflict i am still going to pug from time to time as that's how i first loved the game.

all of the threads about TEAMS VS PUGS i never understood i always stood up for the pug but now i have been on both sides of the fence i am going to stay with the grown ups on team speak

Most EU adults are at work now so you dropped with Americans and/or EU kids. How strange that there was trashtalk.

Its 9am, on the east coast, the kiddies aren't awake yet, and if they are they are at school.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

excuse me sir do you have a minute to talk about the Robinson Rangers they died for you.

No this thread is not about teamspeak its about a way of finding more mature players.

even if i could find a way of playing with a consistent amount of people who were not immature and we didn't have voice coms i would still play with them that's my point

I've been strictly pugging since November and yet to run into anything severely wrong. Yes, I've run into a few name- callers. But it all boils down to maturity..., not them but you. A mature person should not fazed by anything, especially not name calling This isn't pre-K on the swings. Become more thick-skinned. If you can't handle it then run to a organized group. Organized groups have the advantage of booting ***holes.

Edit: This is not directed to the OP, per say, just anyone that shares his mentality.

Are some people saying that only Americans are rude? HAHA what planet are you living on. Rudeness is not limited to just us Americans.

I can see finding more mature players on teamspeak. At least you could find out faster how mature people are just by listening to them.

I don't thing your very mature if your lumping all pugs together like you just did.

Every clown and their mother has some story about a pre-made that ran their mouths or a group of trash talking pugs.

The fact that you came here to throw mud at pugs and praise pre-mades is enough to make your attempted point invalid.

My TS experience was the opposite. The people on TS were a bunch of trash-talking, ALT-F4 for 3rd person, leetist douches.

Grind up your elo with heavies :) As far as I can tell, ppl who are good at robots are statistically less likely to be angrily throwing around slurs haha.

No-one said "All Americans are rude, no non-Americans are rude." - which is what you're conflating there. They are saying that as a generalisation Americans are, or are regarded as, more rude (or more likely to be rude) than players from elsewhere, the specific point being made in this case was a parallel between the general behaviour (in the context of online gaming) of US adults and EU 'kids'.

So you're aware, it's a fairly widely held opinion outside of the States, and for good reason. Not all Americans are rude/immature of course, but they do trend towards behaviour (in the online gaming arena at least) that people in the EU regard as a sign of immaturity.

N.B.: I know there's a lot of caveats in this post, but lets face it when you're discussing something like this there needs to be.

It's okay OP not everyone is cut out for the PUGlife. No reason to feel bad about that, you can stop overcompensating now.
