There are currently 14 pinned threads in general discussion. There are only 16 non-pinned threads on the first page. it kind of defeats the purpose of pinning threads if the page is filled with them. If I'm looking for a pinned thread, I have to search through a ton of them to find the one I want. If I'm not looking for a pinned thread, I have to search through all of them to find the first non-pinned thread. Clean up this place!

I've mentioned this before, and I'm glad to see someone else bring it up (maybe something will happen this time!).

Any more pinned threads than 5 and the forums become difficult to use. That's a pretty standard Psych 101 textbook assertion. Try counting five objects and observe that you can intuitive recognize there are five. Now try six, and observe that you have to make a note of them.

An ideal number for ease of use would probably be a max of 3, tops.

I mean, does the NGNG thing really need to be pinned? And that's just one I picked. At an easy first glance, I can see 10 threads that really do not need to be pinned. I have no doubt that I could pick one from the remaining 4 that it would make sense to ditch.

Of the 16 remaining posts I see on the front page, about 8 are as useful. And how long would it be before 8 other useful things are posted to fill the remaining spots? Are you suggesting the front page should be only pinned links?

Kill all the unofficial stuff, and kill most of the official stuff too. Bump as necessary.

The only thing they did last time was remove all user stickies, whether useful or not, but left their own junk up, and now they just keep adding their own.
