My latest light project is my Ghetto Panther PNT-10K. It's fun as hell, and reasonably effective too - first drop in it netted me 2 kills, 4 assists, and over 1000 XP.
Piloting a light is not for everyone. You need to be a bit crazy to do it well

I find that with the last improvement to the netcode, the light weight class one without ECM, especially the commandos are not able to hold theirs ground and by using them, one jeopardized the winning chances of his team.
I cant find any roles for the commandos without ecm but being cannon fodder.
It's very tedious to level them and it`s a real painful experience.
Only the spider or Jenner with jumpjets can be fun.
Suggestion :
Add some internal stealth equipment that mask his position to radar outside a 270 meters or greater range.
See you in game.
Use your lights as a scout. Its the role they were meant for. They were never meant for running circles around other mechs and blasting them into oblivion. Now people have to play smarter and more in line with what lights are supposed to be.
I will however agree with you. I played lights for a while and really the only light that can hold its own is the raven with ecm. If your a light and this thing comes at you, you don't stand a chance.

I average 341 damage a match with my D, I think that's more than enough for "holding my ground". Ya I have some crap matches where lrms rain from the sky and instantly incinerate me, or I turn a corner into a splat cat. But other times I'm playing whack-a-mole with atlases jumping to and fro on rooftops shooting down at him while he vainly tries to bring his ac/20 to bear, or on their heads and hitching rides.
Oh, and if some of the LRM damage that I direct using my TAG was given to me I'd probably break 500 a match.

I have more fun in my 4x and 3c then I do in my 3L and 3M. If by fun you mean lots of kills, well maybe you should take a look at the game from a different angle.

Because the raven being OP has nothing to do with ECM and has everything to do with an apparent bug with explosive damage, the 3Ls hitbox arrangements, and netcode issues.

RAVEN RVN-3L 8 5 3 1.67 11 3 3.67 2,614 5,258 00:45:32
8 Games 3,67 KD. my normal score is about 1.5 so its more then twice as high then with my other mechs.

Ya because typing in huge letters with huge spaces isn't "fluffing" or shameful AT ALL.
NOPE.
NOT AT ALL
Block if you like, but spare us your wasteful/worthless posts before doing so, not after.

This is a problem if your fighting a 3L using streaks, but you titled this thread "Light Mechs Without ECM Are Not Fun To Play", which is a different issue.
"you titled"? I don't recall making this thread, lol. But the title is true, and not a different issue than what I said.

To be fair, those three issues do not preclude that the ECM is also contributing to the skill-bird's OPness.

And that would have nothing to do with ELO matching you against weaker opponents because you have no established ELO for the light class and everything to do with 3Ls being OP.

I've met very few ravens I couldn't kill unless they were massively pinging or just equal to or better than me.

Easy, the devs designed it that way and all functions are currently operational and working properly. Pretty much the definition of working as it should be, unlike explosive damage apparently.
