"until further tuning can be done".

It's not gone from the game, just temporarily removed. Like collisions.

Well, that's okay... I'm all right with missiles splashing the damage that they're SUPPOSED to do over multiple parts. They're removing it so that every single splash isn't at full damage. Sounds good to me.

Does this mean the end of the LRM are OP threads?

The villagers will rejoice for sure.

@Borisof007

Which is fine. Missiles should cause splash. Just not be doubling and tripling up damage by doing so. (and hopefully that means PPCs will FINALLY hit like they should.)

We shall see. Technically it's unlikely the assaults were getting hit hard by the splash (other than select places on each at the side torso - center torso meeting point). As a light mech though it seemed even an lrm 5 at points was just ripping me alive.

Splash damage removed, yet MG, Flamer, NARC, and LB-X remain in the garbage can. Working as intended.

While I agree that those weapons are nearly pointless right now, Rome was not built in a day. :ph34r:

It's nice to see but it's 3 weeks until then. Until then, SRMboats are still broken and will 1-2 hit slaughter your Mech.

And I was so happy when I saw the title of the post, thinking that the horribly long splash screens at the game startup are beeing removed.

Collisions haven't been reintroduced to the game so you mid as well say its gone from the game because there is no guarantee they will put anything they removed back.

Also ELO is lame and makes the game unplayable, discuss.

If that long. 4 quick hits of the spacebar will usually take you to the login prompt. Only need three, but I'm too fast ;).

Splash damage should never increase the damage that a missile does. It should allow the missile to split damage among components dependent on where it explodes against the mech. The problem with splash damage as implemented is that the missile seems to do full "point" damage, then additional damage in a radius around it. Splash damage should simply divide the damage of the missile among components in the radius.

And repair costs? Collisions have been gone for so long I'm really starting to wonder if they're coming back. Splash should be removed, missiles should do damage to one component for each projectile. Yes, multiple projectiles should hit multiple areas. This is not splash, this is spread. If, after that, the per-missile damage needs to be upped to be competitive, that is a simple fix.
