LRMS devestating any mech. CT is now about the only thing EVER hit. life expectancy of any mech is 10 seconds in any encounter. scores are 8-0; 7-1; etc. it sure would be nice to play a round where the game actually lasts longer than 3 minutes.

game has degraded to closed beta LRMboating and masses grouped weapons that have NO spread but just punch a hole in one specific point, CT.

no point in playing for fun anymore, it is just a frustration generating machine.

Get your ELO up and L2P, then you will almost never face LRMs, or have to worry about them when they do show up. Alternatively, just take ECM.

I do agree with your topic tile though.

Too much ECMing, no ramming, a long-standing apparent refusal to give weak weapons the buffs they desperately need...

Oh well how sad.
Running a X5 with no AMS and I do just fine, check where the LRMs are coming from, dodge them or hide in cover, move up behind and core them....simple really.
Adapt dude adapt.

Tch, I rarely die to LRMs. Sometimes I do take a nasty hit but still, it's rare to take significant damage...

What ARE you (not) doing? Think about it.

This QQ sounds like a L2P issue to me.

the only reason i still play now is because i do 8-man almost exclusively... makes the game bearable...

The game should not adapt to you, you need to adapt to the game. Don't walk out in the open. Know your route, know where you can hide if someone is firing at you from a distance. I never ever get killed by LRM's. Never. Can't remember the last time that happened.

S!

I understand what OP is talking about. LRMs do devastate unless you stay in cover so merely need to adapt. Another issue is the FOTM Mech aka boating. Splatcats, Poptartapharcts etc. The higher your ELO is the higher the amount of FOTM. People play it safe and min/max to stay competetive. To me that is boring even totally valid as game permits it. So to OP I would recommend a small break from MWO, venture to other games or activities for a while. That is what I am planning as well because MWO feels more like a senseless rinse and repeat grind with no goal other than win. There is no depth or content to speak of yet.

Weird, I only rarely die to LRMs and plenty of matches (though not all..) last more than 3 minutes.

Are you a Commando pilot generalising your frustrations onto 'all Mechs'? Because LRMs do multiple times as much damage as intended against Commandos in particular, though they're slightly more powerful than intended against most other Mechs atm.

Slightly?

Testing by players seems to indicate most mechs bigger than lights take roughly double the listed damage from missiles, with lights taking five to seven times the listed damage. So yeah, it's by far most noticeable on light mechs, but it's effecting things as large as Cataphracts as well.

It's not as simple as bigger = more damage. Ravens take less damage than listed, Centurions take less damage than listed, Atlases take 40% more... etc etc.

Commandos, uniquely, take 800% the damage.

i find it hilarious that light mech pilots are so out of it they say:
i pilot an X5, you must be dodging missiles wrong in your assault mech!!!!

no you dimwit, slower mechs are much more vulnerable to it...
and yes lrms were made a little too powerful last patch, they're gonna fix it afaik

Fix is incoming in April apparently. Which will be too late for my record on the Commandos I'm piloting atm... >.>

There's no reason to be out in the open so often. It makes ANY weapon, especially LRMs, so easy to kill you with.

I bought my first scout mech the other day, a Cicada. I last until the end of the round regularly, I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. I'm guessing that state rewind hit some people hard, but all that is is incentive to play better.

Immel.. you posted this before.. this very same thing.

LRMs DO need a fix..

as for CTs.. quit freakin facing directly at your opponent at all times.. most of us can aim.. and WILL core you.
Use Torso twist to spread damage.

Actually a lot of that extra damage was shown to be a bug with the training grounds, its not a LRM issue that happens in real games.
