Not to sure about the King Crab since it's mostly used by Comstar, but ignoring that you can also add the Hatamoto-Chi, Thug*, Devastator, Crockett*, Katana, Pillager* and Longbow.

* Denotes units primarily in use with the Comguards.

I really hope we are not near the end of beta yet. This game is not at a state for a full game. There are just not enough everyday common features that should be included that are not in yet.
  • Game Lobby
  • Lobby Chat
  • Ability to drop against specific opponents vrs teams
  • Greater Variety in Maps
  • Greater Variety in Mechs
  • Technical Bugs (no knockdowns, damage bugs, lag shield)
  • Game Play Balancing (final stage once bugs are released and final passes on weapons are done)
  • Achievments
  • More Complete Module Set / Pilot Tree System
  • Factions
  • Community Warfare
These are the least of the things they should probably try to do before they should be considering getting out of beta and going gold, otherwise this game will be just a decently fun death match under the Mechwarrior license. I am afraid of that kind of gaming having a limited viability. There are many strong competitors in the marketplace.

That being said, GO KING CRAB!!!!

This artwork is....why do people use original BTech artwork as a tool to persuade folks a given mech should be in game? Although I know intellectually that the MWO artstyle will somehow make that look really good if it ever arrives, my gut reaction is simply to ask why you'd ever want something so drastically terrible in the game.

The only mech that brings much new to the field besides the King Crab is the Banshee, and that's mostly just at a new tonnage but at least you can put a ridiculous engine in it and be relatively nimble for 95 tons with a 75 kph with a max engine of 400. Not that it would ever be worth doing that, and thus why the Banshee is considered a failed design.

I just want the King Crab for looks, myself.

how is an 80t mech that goes 68 kph has 1 LL 2 ML 1LRM15 and an AC5 terrible? (also i was given a miniature of one has a gift as a child, had no idea what it was at the time but i liked it all the same)

((I've been against spending money on a beta, but if/when they add this mech I'm shelling out instantly))

also if it could look like this that'd be great :D

Taste is a unique quality. I for one like the look of that Zeus! The Crabs (King and not King) look good as a sketch but would be nicer if cleaned up. The origial artist has some talent indeed.

and unless I'm mistaken someone important used to drive a Zeus so they can get a hero mech out of it to (potentially)

The Bane/Kraken is a Clan mech that won't be seen for many years, it most definately won't be the last Beta Assault.

Even though it is a second line Mech as such it is old and outdated:

the Bane was first built in the early part of the 29th century.

Ill keep it on the poll because it was a prototype in the IS, but I do consider it very unlikely.

In the event we reach 20 mechs on the posts, it will likely be the first to be replaced by a better choice. Thx for bringing this to my attention :D

I don't know History/Timeline, but the Banshee could give us the BNC-6S for the long desired RT/LT ballistic hardpoints in an assault :D I'm guessing it's outside the timeline, as it comes stock with an LBX/10 (for long range, lol) and a Heavy Gauss, so cheating with a normal gauss (3 ton difference) and more ammo for both would probablly work.

We already have a mech with low-slung ballistic arms -- the Cataphract. King Crab has little about it that's unique other than being a ballistic-heavy assault.

Would love to see the Zeus though. Such a cool looking mech, especially the ZEU-9WD Zeus-X model, which has those fantastic-looking fins on the back. http://ironwindmetal...echs/20-998.jpg

It offers more than enough standard variants plus special builds that could be Hero mechs (Stacy and Leonidas).

the only downside I can see for the zeus is that most of its variants use aprox the same weapons, so PGI would probably have to be a little creative on the hard point locations ect.
