I'm sorry, but there is no way the next mech announced (concept art) will be the Bane/Kraken.

First, it is a Clan mech and we are looking for an IS one.
Second, it wasn't used in 3050's Clan Invasion - it appeared only in 3055.

What I see for the next mech:
- Banshee (40%),
- Zeus (30%),
- Charger (10%),
- Hatamoto-Chi (10%),
- Cyclops (5%),
- Victor (4%)
- Annihilator (1%).

There is a lot of discussion about the next mech(s) here.

We already have a mech with low-slung ballistic arms -- the Cataphract. King Crab has little about it that's unique other than being a ballistic-heavy assault.

Would love to see the Zeus though. Such a cool looking mech, especially the ZEU-9WD Zeus-X model, which has those fantastic-looking fins on the back. http://ironwindmetal...echs/20-998.jpg

It offers more than enough standard variants plus special builds that could be Hero mechs (Stacy and Leonidas).

I don't quite follow, if the King Crab's 'ballistic-centric assault mech' isn't different enough to what we have currently, what does the Zeus bring that is different?

Stone Rhino

O M G :D

Although the people in the lore who had a Rhino, said that they can not afford to lose one. I for one would still buy one even if they would cost 60million cbills or more. :)

While I really like the Zeus, I doubt it will be the next assault to be announced.

If you look at the Highlander, it is very similar to the Zeus. Missiles and Ballistics in the Arms, Energy in the Torso... and on top of that the Highlander has JJs for superior mobility.

No. It's the Atlas's mentally challenged brother. The Banshee.

I want a Hatamoto-Chi, which is an awesome ride and has a lot of variants. I think it will be a Zeus however.

As for the people talking about the Banshee fillin the 95 ton slot, filling tonnage slots isn't the number one concern for the Devs. For instance, there are 3 50 tonners, and no 55tonners. Filling roles wis more important, and the Banshee would essentially be another Atlas in terms of role. (Not saying it wouldn't be fun or effective, just that it wouldn't bring anything new ot the table, it even looks a lot like the Atlas with a similiar build and head)

I think it will be a Zeus because there are a lot of builds for that mech, it's an important mech for the Lyrans, and it plays different than the Awesome, with ballistics, missile and energy mixes on many variants. I don't see the Victor coming in, because it woiuld be a cross between the Highlander and the Cataphract in terms of playstyle. (I don't think many people will actually use jets on the Highlander once they realize that they're 2 tons each for mechs that large btw, The Victor actually might have less tonnage to play with than the Cataphract if they're both carrying jets)

As for the King Crab, which is getting a lot of appreciation. It might be a fun ride, with the big guns on the arms it could brawl really well, might be vulnerable due to that.

The Anni doesn't have enough variants, and it's a Wolf Dragoons only mech at this time, not a good choice (it would trun into a 4 Gauss sniper immediately after release also)

The Charger could be a fun ride, but I think that if they were going to do that, they should bring in the Hatamoto also because they have the same chassis with some different aesthetics added later on the Hat.

As a loyal Draconian, I also want the Mauler, it would be NASTY just using the stock design in this game, (4 AC-2, 2 LRM-15, 2 ERLL) but I don't think it has enough variants at this time. It's a nice looking mech and has a lot of build possibilities so hopefully it's added in the future, but I doubt it will be soon.

Essentially a 95 ton variant of the Atlas.

A Cyclops might be interesting once they get Command Computers (or whatever they're called again) working. At least it would be a variant other than the Atlas.

I think the Orion might get an option for one of those also.

Personally, I really hope it's the King Crab (gotta love those dual AC/20s :D ) and if it is, I will plod around wreaking havoc to my heart's content. If not, I kinda hope it's the Annihilator, just for the sake of attempting to build Gausszilla ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Annihilator under custom variants)

Zues or Victor, both have well balanced hardpoints. But neither will have their best chassis unfortunately because the heavy gauss rifle isnt in the game...

Also, Russ Bullocks' favorite Mech. (Maybe ups its probability)

I wished for the Annihilator. That was "my" mech in MW3 and I want it back. Also, I like the design. Too much stuff that is way too humanoid in the selection otherwise. We really need a hero mech named "Gausszilla". :D

OK, it might be slow as hell, although there is a 54 kph variant, but that one uses clantech. So that might be a big downside to that mech. If I were to get a second choice, I'd say Mauler, because that is the only other design in there that doesn't bore me to death.

The Stone Rhino is basically a clan mech. It was not made useable in the inner sphere. The project was scrapped in the IS after the first test run.

So the Stone Rhino is not an option.
