I purchased a DRAGON DRG 1-N mech and it has two hard point missile slots located on the front torso. Problem is... it needs a gyro and engine to run so it leaves it with only 2 dynamic slots for accessories. This means that I can only have 1 LRM and 1 stack of ammo right? So it pretty much lied when it said I have 2 missile hardpoints? Or can I place my ammo anywhere on the mech?

You can fit either 1 missile launcher that takes up 2 slots or 2 missile launchers that take up 1 slot each. For example, you could fit 2 LRM5s or 1 LRM10 if you want LRMs. If you want SRMs you can fit 2 SRM4s, 2 SRM2s, or 2 Streak SRM2s.

So I can place my LRM ammo anywhere? It doesn't have to be located in the torso with the LRM?

You can put ammunition anywhere with a free critical slot. Legs, arms, head ... anywhere.

Legs are often a good choice as if they explode the side torso is damaged next and few people shoot for the legs of anything other than a light Mech.

Ammo in a side torso should have CASE protecting that torso side (unless you run an XL in which case an ammo explosion will kill you CASE or no CASE).
