... um, no. You bring it out into the open and talk about it so it can't be ignored. PGI needs to continue and/or renew its focus on the security of the game as they are focused on microtransactions, maps, and weapon balance.

People who are gonna cheat are gonna cheat.

Ummm yes. you report it to support not in a thread.

I chuckle every single time I see one of these threads. Not counting close beta, I just crossed the 3000 match threshold. I have NEVER seen anything to this point which would make me think hack. I can believe someone using an exploit but definitely no hack. Honestly, I don't know where you people keep coming up with this stuff. People scream at the top of their lungs about hacking. If you truly believe this, then either video your games to capture it and or put in a support ticket. Crying on the forums is a flipping waste. You look foolish.

They way to beat this is to become a spy. Join the groups that are doing this. Watch the you tube videos. Learn what software they are using and how they are making it available. Then report what you know to the developers.

Are we talking about the sudden deaths when you explode and don't know why?

I thought it was confirmed that this was some high-ping reaction of the servers that kicks you out?

My game stopped moving the other day while i was brawling with a raven and hunchback. We we're all walking on the spot (on my screen) then everything caught up and both me and the hunchback had taken damage. Could be trouble server side.

You do know how server authorative games work right ?

Also you do know that the movement is done by the server as well right ?

So, knowing this, you should know, that dropping packets on purpose won't do anything for you. The server will continue moving you mech where it "was" going according to the server until you respond. If you don't respond in time , generally games will kick you from the server as you are essentially "disconnected".

Because of this, you should be able to fire on them like normal, and when they do finally recieve / send another packet they will cop all the dmg you put into them in 1 hit....pretty much like what you said YOU experienced. (tons of dmg from nowhere in 1 second etc)

So are you sure you didnt just drop packets yourself ?

The so called hacking you are talking about is pretty much impossible to do. At least, the way you explain it.

Changing packets / dropping packets does not work.

Quoted for truth.

Packet manipulation/dropping is pretty much worthless in server authorative environments.

They are either dropping or modifying packets. They will stand still and look like they are "lag walking" and then all of a sudden BOOM .... you take massive damage. It was not your typical lag.

I won't name names here but we need to keep this discussion alive. Hacking is happening and PGI please take quick action to bring it to a stop.

Thanks.

More likely it had something to do with the ISP issues happening in the region on one of the countries dominant networks. It seemed to start going screwy Friday many thousands completely without an connection for a good part of the day yesterday. Websites were OK throughout the day (once my connection came back) but gaming was kind of iffy and inconsistent. Things seem to be settled down this morning and back to normal.

I had a similar experience for one game this weekend ... don't remember if it was Friday or Saturday ... it seemed to be that everyone was affected.

I could move normally, but everyone else appeared to be walking in place, then warping and stopping, etc.

I did find it odd that it started immediately after the first enemy mech was targeted ...

But I quickly put away my tinfoil hat ... it has not happened again since.

Is it possible that someone was trying to use a hack / cheat / exploit? Sure, but it was one game out of over a hundred played this week.

LOL ... I saw what I saw ... and it was not server lag. That would have impacted everyone in the match.

It impacted specific people! Dropped or modified packets or not ... some cheesy stuff is going on.

You can be condescending all you want ... not gonna make the problem go away.

Take care.

There is definitely something new afoot, yesterday I encountered the same thing twice: someone with unjammable UAC5s...

Given the state of the rest of the game, I am understandably skeptical of PGIs ability to deal with hacking in MWO.

Saw something like this last night on Alpine, lasted a good 5 mins, actually killed the guy warping finally, but the game remaned "funky" for another few mins, then it let us cap after the other team was dead or had disco'd, figured it was a server issue and did not see it again the rest of the night.

Send info to support@mwomercs.com if you suspect foul play.

To OP, I've never seen what you experienced. More than one thread of people assuming hacks/cheats when it could be just lag. At least you're not saying you got killed in 1 HUD shot like many.

Like One Medic Army said, send an email to support...

You can use a macro to fire UAC5's with perfect timing to avoid said jams, it's not a hack but probably frowned upon.

Just repot them. There's nothing we can do to help you. I've never seen anyone hack in this game, only seen anything even suspicious 2 or 3 times, and even then it could be chalked up to sheer luck.

Due to my crappy ISP, when I listen to Pandora and play MWO at the same time I get lag spikes like what you are describing every time it starts a new song.

Briefly, everyone walks in place for me, so I assume I must appear to walk in place for them. I've never tried to fire when this was going on so I don't actually know if I can hurt them during this though. The lag ends, I teleport seemingly at random to where the server thinks I should be (usually into a very bad place, full of lasers and death) , and take all the damage I missed while I was away. Needless to say I don't really listen to pandora while playing MWO much anymore.

So it's likely just some people streaming something while playing MWO and getting bottlenecked.

This happen to me last night as will. One sec the guy back was to me and I was ripping in to him the nix he was at my side blowing off my arm.
one other thing their was a light L3 raven that was on the other side of the map trying to do a cap and some how that same raven got to my back as I was fighting the guy that warp to my light side and blow off my arm.
Something is not right guys.

This stuff has been going on for a week or so.
Ps my ping is 45 to 50 at all times so its not the ISP

.
Packet loss modification has been known, I brought this up months ago, it "IS" being used, and videos of it being used, and how to use it have been posted on certain groups websites..
.
Anyone that dismisses it as nothing is a complete ignorant tool, packet loss modification is nothing new, and has been around for a long, long time. "End of Story"
