I'm fearing seeing it in game though, especially if people are popping 4 uac5's. As a long range mech its going to hurt, and good shots are going to be hell on slow assaults caught in the open.

Trust me, the last thing you have to fear is a 65-ton mech trying to cram in 4 UAC5's. It'll be slow with too little armor, heat sinks and/or ammo. It's a mythical beast that lives in the same land as the triple-Gauss Ilya Muromets.

The new MJ variant comes with LRM 20 launcher in the head

Posted Image

In fact judging by the size of the launch tube it might even be 2 x LRM20!

Jaggermech ftw!

I think its fine the way it is. "Jager" is German for Master Hunter, and mech is still mech. "Master Hunter Mech" doesn't sound cool to you? Oh and by the way, Jager is not pronounced "Jagger", it's pronounced "yah-gur." I need to put this out there because the mispronunciation I hear get extremely irritating. Edited for more factual accuracy.

In IPA it is likely "jaɡɜɹ"*

The Mech Jagger never overheats, it's true.

In fact, Betty is gone when you power up, instead it sings: "When you start me up! When you start me up I never stop!"

The first one. "Mech Hunter" would be "Mechjäger".

Of course, given that the name was made by people that have trouble finding (or pronouncing) an Umlaut... They could have really meant it to be a "Mech Hunter", and thought that if they flipped the word positions, it would be more German...

I name each variant after what role the mech fullfills on the battlefield, close, medium, long range, ect. I usually pick cultural weapons around those attack ranges. Since the Jagermech is medium to long range support, it will be fun coming up with names for my variants to level. Of course I'll try the close range AC 20 build but I can already smell the cheese on that one. :)

Yeah, it will be an easy kill once you track it down... until you do, Puff the Magic Jagermech is going to tear some shizz up.

This is only a true Jagermech if the brick set actually also contains an Urbanmech brick set.

it's not pronounced 'yae-ger'-'mek'?

That aside I figure a JM6-A if I pick one up would get a Blitz-related name... missiles and dakka and all.

I don't see why people are going so ballistic over this... I know it's pronounced Jaeger (yay-ger) but I can't get Mick Jagger out of my head since someone pointed it out.
Oh and also:

Wrong, "Jä" does not equal "yay". You can listen to the correct german pronounciation here:
http://www.forvo.com/word/jaeger/
In IPA: [ˈjɛːɡɐ]

I stand corrected. Again, though, I shall forever call it a Mick Jaggermech, a Mick Jaggerbomb and Mick Jaggermeister.

Anyway, back to the OP....

Hmmm.....weak armor, huge, bro-status silhouette, and an ******** of guns? I'm thinking:

"Yolomech"
