The Inner Sphere will not hear about OUTBOUND LIGHT. It is not uncommon for Explorer Corp to lose contact with one of their expeditions. They are gone for long periods of time and do re-establish contact.

But, do not fret. If the Explorer Corp loses contact they will send a response team to find them.

And considering that they stopped the in-universe news updates a while ago, its possible we never ever will.

Doesn't matter. Community Warfare isn't done, isn't even spelled out for us in any meaningful way.

At this point the "Clans" have as much chance to be AI-controlled enemies on certain planets, some kind of event players can participate in; as much as they might be playable. The news updates are cool, but I'd much rather see a flow chart for how they're going to 'get it sorted so players can play as the Clans.' In their words, from like a billion years ago.
