it would allow you to make a custom variant for any battlemech (just for instant action) or take just a stock one
to the testing grounds and you will be able to pick the map and what mechs you will go against
like...8 atlases each piloted by a regular,green,elite,vet AI pilots.

I've been wanting this mode since I first played the game. Weapons and mechs are expensive, I would really like to test them before buying them.
I used to test out mechs in instant action back in MW4 before taking them to multiplayer.

as much as l like it, they probably won't do it. Especially since they've commented that they have no plans for "missions," which would require AI.

Coding AI is not that simple. Unless, you wanted AI to be OP, and I guess then it would be "acceptable". Just give it a custom MG config. It'll be fine...

No because I'd be playing this mode and spending 0 money.
I mean yes, I'd like it, but to be realistic we'll never get it. I'm just in it to shoot mechs, AI or player doesn't matter. I've done it with just AI with MW4 for 2 years.

AI is good since it can improve your aiming while they run very fast
and its better than shooting still targets that cannot move

as much as i like the thought of AI generally (since it would also enable implementation of co-op missions, one of the big hypes in MMO environments nowadays), i doubt that will happen very soon...
even if there are the basics for an AI within the CE3, that´s probably made for infantry. getting an AI to be a mech pilot is hard work, like AI generally is hard work, if you want a proper one that is not a "rail walker with an aimbot". any gamer knows that from WAY more bad AI´s in games than good ones. i think a proper AI for MWO is a big challenge
