Atlas... Everyone loves big, dumb n' ugly. Since I don't see an Uziel I'll be going something like a Hunchback myself.

I personally love clan mechs and heavies in general, but most people will likely go with the most iconic choice the Atlas. It's big and others have talked about survivalbility.

Pretty sure we're gonna see nothing but atlases in the first couple of weeks.

Because I am a poor FPS player I want to go light with as much support modules, scouting and spotting stuff as I can get in there. I think that would be my best bet to help my Merc Corps. Or I guess I could just wind up in an Atlas (or equivalent) and be cannon fodder, not exactly something I could look forward to playing over and over. Light for me (Raven or Jenner I guess).

Personally, from looking at what everyone is saying about the Atlas, I think they're going to want to take it out and test it. It has amazing armor and brutal weapons at almost any range. That said, I don't think it'll be a very good go-to mech for anyone but the Newbies, simply because the vets will know that speed and maneuverability often turn the tide of a battle just as much as armor and weapons. Will the Atlas make its presence felt on the battlefield? Absolutely. Will it be the go-to, end-all mech that dominates the battlefield every time? No. The cost of the mech to replace is too prohibitive to allow for that. After all, SOMEONE'S going to figure out how to take an Atlas down using nothing but a Medium mech (the gods will laugh if they pull it off in a light one!), and then the Atlas player would find themselves hanging their head in shame and hoping they can buy a mech with their credit card... and praying their card doesn't max out doing so!

I uaed to survive with nothing but speed in my games and so... Prepare to laugh gods!! ;)
