Yes, another topic requesting Team Deathmatch. But I haven't seen one since the new Suggestion Polling format was introduced, so here we go.

Would you like to see a pure Team Deathmatch now? (or sooner rather than later, at least) This is not currently a high priority for the game devs, so a 'Yes I agree' vote here means that you'd like to see the game devs make TDM a higher priority.

Assault is not TDM. It's close, but then, you could argue that every game mode is essentially TDM, but that doesn't make them TDM. TDM does not have ANY objectives other than to kill the other team. Kill. Not capture this arbitrary piece of land. Kill. .... or Destroy if you want to be all P.C. about it...

Why? I'm frankly tired of Assault. Conquest is only slightly better. All I really want to do with my mech and my team is to fight, not run around and capture points or line up to fight and only be handed a loss because the other team decided it would be more fun to sneak around and rush the base. Loaded up all this firepower and we'd rather save our ammo and run in circles for 5 minutes? Not my idea of fun.

Two teams enter, one team leaves.

Now, obviously people are concerned that there's going to be one ecm light mech that's going to run and hide after all his teammates are dead, just to save himself from death while the time ticks down. A very valid concern. There's no great way to solve this, my best/easiest suggestion is just to lower the time limit so that if this does happen, then it wont last too long.

I do have another suggestion to keep the game moving along, but I just thought it up so it might not be very fleshed out: Shrinking Boundaries where the Out of Bounds lines shrink inward either with the time clock or with the number of mechs still alive. For example, as the clock ticks down, the invisible Out of Bounds boundaries slowly creep inward, reducing the amount of space the players have to spread out. Or rather than by going by the clock, they can set it so that as each mech gets destroyed, those boundaries incrementally shift inward. This isn't perfect, and obviously there are challenges to over come such as how much is too much when squeezing the battlefield down, and how much time do you give for the out of bounds warning to players who were sitting on the edge before it moved, what about areas where a player could get trapped, but I think all these things can be worked out over time.

I would love it. For the most part the other game types work. Yet when you get a team of scouts and they run straight into your base as you have made it 25% away, your dead, it took 2 min of play time, and nothing actually happened.

Also, you need the shrinking boundaries. With out them someone can just hide as the last man standing and either run out the clock or force the other team to quit out of boredom.

The shrinking boundaries is an interesting idea and I like it in theory. But it definitely needs to be done right.

As for TDM I believe the devs need to bring it back. Especially to have proper tournaments with teams.

Solaris is where I can see a TDM mode, a FFA mode, a CTF mode, etc etc.............

Out in the normal battles ? hmmm not really.

Anyway, all the modes are already TDM, just with 2 bases for assault and 5 for conq. Its TDM with bases.

You wan't to force a pure TDM ? Then camp your base.

I'm not into TDM, however, I do understand its place in Games like this... I'm not sure why it hasn't been implemented, they can take the Assault mode and just remove the Code for base capping win flagging.. Add a code, for power down longer than a minute to hide you go boom, select the smaller maps, or make a Mech Terra Dome. Have fun..

We have TDM if they just remove the cap zones from Assault, which has been called for time and time again.
