Can't C4 do that tho? But I did hear that the missile version of the Jagermech has a hilarious number of tubes.

No, the C4 has two missile points.

EDIT: Oops, was thinking the C1.

I really like the arm cannons on the Jager, as they look freaking awesome the way they change for each weapon mounted.

But the mech itself is a BUFF ( big ugly fat f---), and I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of ballistics as it is, and mechs designed to wield them exclusively I don't care for, exception being mah Ilya.

Its an ok mech but damn good looking. Not for the lone wolves, got to run wingman for a cat or atlas to last more then a few seconds.

Actually, it makes a damned good missile platform too. Again though, the one chassis is the one that is good at everything. The other two, I guess those will be done for leveling only. They arent terrible at least, so the leveling process wont be hard.

My only real beef with the Jager so far is it turns like a mac truck, even with a 300 engine in it and it goes down quick in a fight.

Thing is though, tonight, everything is dying quickly.

Yeah - I wonder if it will still seem as fragile when splash damage isn't doing hilarious things? My intuition is that it will end up somewhere in Cataphract territory - basically a deathtrap with an XL, but with enough to gain from running one to make it worth it.

I like my Jager.

I'm running a JM6-A with an XL300, 2UAC5s, and 4 ssrm2s, and it's putting out a ton of damage.

And once I get DHS, I'll have the weight to add on two medium lasers for even more firepower.

Until they fix the armor, and the head hit box, this mech is not worth running.

You need more tonnage - can't do anything with it that you can't do with other mechs. Quad UAC/5 pff.. you'll either move so slow its not even funny, have no heat mangment, or almost no ammo.
And oh yeah, XL engine. Sayonara sucker!
It's easy to kill, feels like large hitboxes.

So glad i played around in mechlab \ smurfys and killed a lot of em before i wasted cbills.
I love dakka, but damn, not enough for that mech.

I'm working on the A atm, best thing I've done with it is boat 2 lrm 20s and 2 lrm 5s with 2 medium lasers. I just bought it so havent upgraded anything but the endo. First match it ended with 795 points of damage to the other team. It works for grinding, but it isn't a Jeager without the guns :P

AC40 + XL

That's how I'm running mine atm, I'm liking it so far. Note; Liking doesn't necessarily mean it's good, lol. It might need some changes though. Running an XL300 with only 2xAC20 and almost max armor, might be more effective with a smaller engine and adding some lasers, but had the XL300 laying around unused and didn't feel like blowing a lot of money on a new engine already :P It's quite fragile indeed, especially with how missiles are behaving atm.

LRMs are borked ATM, so don't worry, stuff will probably even out in the future :P

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the dominant build for this thing actually - I'm gonna try mine with 4 small lasers and other miscellaneous extras, but it's hard to argue with simplicity haha. It will probably still be a bit of a deathtrap even after missiles are fixed, but I would guess that (like the Cataphract) the returns are high enough to justify the XL + massive side torsos. But who knows haha

Jagermech is basically just a 65 ton Dragon with huge side torsos that's easy to headshot.

Yeah, Dual AC20 was the only build i was somewhat happy with when tinkering in mechlab - It had speed, heat seemed ok with DHS, and ofc good alpha.
But with the large hitboxes and having to go XL engine, it's kinda meh.

Will probably test it for realz to make sure it's as bad as i think with the hitboxes, but need to grind more cbills for other mechs first.
