Here are some comments on how it has been for me personally:
I've been here since closed BETA and it's been a blast! For somewhat of a steep learning curve, I stuck with it because I <3 BT. PUGGING around and grinding were hell at first (till I got Founders and then later the economy changes) but I feel it was time well spent saving up for that first A1 and loading as many SRMs I could fit in it (not SSRMS, those are for pansies) to make my favorite mech from previous games. I was having fun soloing it but eventually decided to join a merc corp because I was getting tired of the way PUG matches were always a 1 sided stomp fest with random probability (a little better now with an active ELO system). There I made a ton of friends for life and ran 8mans; it seemed like almost a different game and my interest was renewed! The tournaments were fun too but I just couldn't stay awake! Now when I play I spend about an even amount of time solo and group dropping with the occasional 8man and I must say I can't wait till community warfare comes out (if ever *fingers crossed*)
As for specific chassis' and balance,I used to play the Splatcat a lot! I mean probably many hundreds of games I used the Splatcat to great effectiveness, so much so that I got bored. It was like an instant win button everytime I readied with it. Same story with the 3L, although we all know how broken those were (still are kind of, I don't agree with the implementation of null sig tech they can use but what can you do). Anyways Ive moved on because I got tired of winning and needed a challenge, so I started playing the C1 lrm cat (can easily do 000's of dmg but still takes skill/tactics) and mediums in general. I found them waaaaay more fun to play but thats my opinion. So that got me wondering how much fun is everybody else having? Dunno , I'll ask.
Also, n my wanderings across the internet I found a great analogy for playing this game as an ECM mech or similarly (overpowered) equipped mech. I found the game experience to be quite similar to Super Spacebar RPG. Here is a link to check it out if you want.

To summarize things I like about MWO:
The challenge of often imbalanced matches and carrying noobs.
It's BT! *stomp stomp PEW PEW DAKKA DAKKA!*
Fun with friends
Unique 'clunky' sim feel
Things I don't like about MWO:
The implementation of
Lobby/ matchmaking still needs improvement/ general "It's BETA" things
Lack of entertaining gametypes
PGI seems to be balancing around the wrong things (Null sig) and moving forward slowly(look how long it took to get netcode seemingly fixed)... (who gives a fish about torso twist? give me maps, gametypes, mechs, interactive environment! If its OP it will become apparent.)
Steep Learning curve, not enough info obviously available, hard to get others interested who have never heard of BT.
Overall I will keep playing this game till the end and I give it a 8/10
So that being said, how FUN is this game for you? What would make it more fun?
