Can't pilot lights too squishy/too fast/lack of fire power

Dragon is great if you're willing to put in the time and effort to learn how to pilot it well. Otherwise, go with the cataphract. I don't like them that much but who knows, maybe its better suited for you.

any variant you prefer to suggest? or build? playstyle suggestion (currently my playstyle involves following the atlas and LRMing whatever he looks at to death)((give or take some medium lasers and tag-ing))

I love the 1N. XL360, LB10X (more useful against lights than AC/10, but change to whatever ballistic you like), double SRM4s or double Streak 2s, 2 medium pulse lasers. DHS, FF and ES.

Flame is also good (I use it for it's ability to use an AC/20). Still working on builds I like with the others, though.

You'll want to do something similar with the Dragon that you do with your Catapult... tag-team with something else (say an Atlas), and when they focus on that Atlas because it's bigger, hammer them in the back because you're going 100+kph and when they turn to get you, run away and hit them from another spot.

Jagermech, energy weapons and ballistics in the arms plus the energy slots in the r/l torso.

I don't like the jager it's too light for a ballistic mech and is also too squishy (dragons die slower than jagers do)

So. Do you like all the hero mechs? Should they only make heroes YOU like?

The CT is so big you're more likely to get cored that way, especially if you're going really fast.

you're not making a lick of sense, and I don't care for hero mechs I'm not sinking any money into a beta so I won't be getting one any time soon.

Side torsos are tiny compared to ct, use them and arms to shield ct. Cant remember last time i lost a side torso. Havnt had much luck building a viable Dragon with reg engine.

Oh if you're going with std engines you only end up with a slow Heavy with a huge CT and not so much firepower. In other words it's just bad allround, Dragons and big XLs is the only way to go really, otherwise might as well get a CTF/CLPT

It'll take me a while to grind up that many CBills ._. especially for those XLs (I don't suppose you got a pic of the hit boxes on that thing by chance) also thanks for the builds.
