I saw a burnt mech carcass near the dropship. It looked to fat too be a Raven but too skinny to be a Catapault. Are all the dead mechs from existing game models? I saw some Hunchback parts scattered about and I am wondering what others are seeing.

What I would like to know is why there is a Behemoth class dropship on the map, when Behemoth class dropships are unable to land... Sounds like somebody lost his pilots license for that frak up...

The Behemoth is the largest DropShip ever constructed by the Star League or the Clans. Originally designed by Krester's Ship Construction, the Behemoth was sold to foreign customers and its construction continued on after the company's demise.[3] Due to its sheer size its structure is prone to stress damage, which is the reason why Behemoths rarely operate at more than half of their drive's thrust capacity. The hull cannot support planet-type gravity and the Behemoth therefore cannot land on planets and may not operate in atmosphere. Instead, they are typically serviced by shuttles and smaller DropShips, and operate in conjunction with cargo transfer space stations to conduct their cargo operations. While the requirement for small craft or smaller DropShips to move its cargo to planets adds an extra logistic and monetary cost compared to the 52,000-ton Mammoth class, the Behemoth's nearest rival and the largest DropShip capable of planetary operations, the sheer volume of cargo the Behemoth can carry far outweighs this. The high cost of running a Behemoth ensures that only the largest trading companies can afford to operate them and they ply only the busiest trade routes, usually far from any conflict. In fact there is only one known example that's privately owned and this ship is the property of Duke Hassid Ricol of the Draconis Combine.[4]

Uh... never occurred to you that it might have, you know, crashed?

(Note: I have yet to see this map.)

Because aerospace fighters shot it up and the planetoids gravity sucked it down?

Um, its a Mammoth not a Behemoth...

http://mwomercs.com/...urmaline-desert

"In some circles it is known as ‘The Boneyard’ as its surface is littered with the carcasses of abandoned BattleMechs and wrecked dropships. The derelict, ovoid dropship was a 52000 ton Mammoth class cargo carrier. This behemoth lays half buried with its bones jutting into the sky, sand blasted and corroded; slowly being consumed by the blowing, glass-like sand over the past two centuries."

Mammoth class dropship, described as a 'behemoth' - maybe that led to some confusion.

The Atlas in the Ship is the same like in the Bays on Alpine.

I only have seen Catapults and Hunchbacks. Anyone seen another mech? I was hoping for a abbadoned Highlander or Orion but found nothing

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's near the north-eastern spawn point, in a little burnt out depression with some other Mech parts lying around (Hunchback torso, Catapult leg). I too saw this and wondered what the hell it was. Definitely not a Raven or a Catapult or a Stalker. I'll try to get a screenshot...

The second parts are, upon closer inspection of the legs and torso, the remnants of a Catapult. Looking at the arm actuator designs, probably a K2.

Edit: Going to do another inspection in training grounds. I want to see if I missed any.
Edit 2: Sweep finished. The expected Atlas, Jenner, and Hunchback in the crashed Gazelle. All the rest are mangled Hunchbacks and Catapults with the occasional random Raven leg here and there.

Nah, it's a Catapult. But whoever did the art for the wreck mistakenly attached the struts way too far forward, which is what makes it look wierd.

From the wreckage, I just figured that a union class got shot down.

The map looks amazing - it is amazing - it can be both a brawling and a long range fest... only if missiles were a bit.... less... oh well... Catapult CPLT-C1s are good now.
