Maybe it is keyboard and mouse? I have some nice rudder pedals and a Saitek X52 but mouse aiming seems the best...

Mouse is always superior.

I use a mouse and a nostromo gamepad. I prefer it to the normal keyboard.

This is good if you want immersion and don't care about how precise you are. If you want to RP with some friends, this is the setup for you. Otherwise mouse + KB.

me too. Its good. If I had to make the choice I'd spend more on a good mouse though.

Try the new analog turn with mouse torso twist and pitch (Ie normal mouse) and analog leg turning with the pedals, and analog throttle to the throttle side of the x52. I'm running that with CH gear and I'm liking it a lot as I'm getting used to it.

mouse and keyboard. I also use a nostromo with an xbox stick modded in where the d pad used to be for analog throttle and turning (in anticipation of this patch) but it will take a little getting used too.

Mouse and keyboard doesn't allow you to analog turn, a disadvantage especially on faster mechs. For this reason, it is mechanically inferior to mouse and joystick.

That sounds intense, I will try it though. Thanks.

As of this patch both the thrustmaster flight Hotas not 400 bucks and the logitek 3d extreme work for the first time great. It time to really play now. Great patch. Perfect no but best so far.

Is recently saw a gaming mouse that has a mini thumbstick. Has anyone used a mouse like this and is the stick use for turning and pitch like a joystick?

Currently I'm evaluating mouse + WiiMote Nunchuk (analog stick). Could also try mouse + X45 throttle (still has rudder control, IIRC they removed it for X52). Analog turning is really nice as it doesn't have jerk compared to pressing a key.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting some rudder pedals but then still use mouse/kb for everything except steering... I'm thinking I'd like it if I could have an analog turn rate, would help in the light circle jerk.
