Same reason Fox News does, its independantly owned?
when they refuse to divide us from pugs and premades and have said as much in the past... then again we know what thrie word is worth now
As of right now, Bryan Ekman and Garth Erlam could walk up to my doorstep, hand me a duck, tell me it is a duck, make it quack, and I would call them liars.
Seriously at this point they are making Gabe Newell seem straight forward and honest.

That remains to be seen. I don't want third person either, but consider that this is a f2p game and f2p games don't operate on regular customers. Regardless of whether or not we like the decision, I bet they'll still be successful.
There's nothing that 'remains to be seen.' At best, PGI and IGP don't know what the other is doing, and they're still lying to us, still trying to fit P2W mechanics and RnR into the game, and at worst, this was all a cashgrah for a bigger purpose.
It's not how you run a business. Zero faith left in either. Zero respect.
This isn't the bioware forum. This isn't reddit. The people here, even through how divided we are, we're all adults. This isn't acceptable behavior.
Case closed. Go troll in a different thread.

To be fair, $5,000,000 divided by 45 staff (who need to be paid at least monthly) over 7-8 months + unknown bandwidth costs + unknown hardware costs does not end up being a lot of money.. And that does not factor in what IGP supposedly sent over to Tactics either.
founders is only part of the cash, doesn't count the newer hero mechs or cammo or premium time, or paying for regular non hero mechs

One can only hope that third person will be limited to the Testing Grounds and the upcoming Training Grounds
Uh-hu, and we're never getting coolant, remember? No P2W mechanics, like the first 'reveal' of their coolant system, where the cash flush was so superior to the regular one, it'd make the world of tanks russians blush.

And:
Office Space, Electricity, Ping-Pong Table, Employee payroll tax, Income tax (They're in Canada, so those rates are HUGE), Asset Insurance, Coffee Maker, Water, Waste Disposal, Ergonomic chairs, Spin Classes, Employee Health Insurance (Canada again), etc. , etc. , etc.
$5mil doesn't go very far.

It seems odd to me that they would go ahead with something like this.

Your words of disappointment won't change a business wanting to make money. This forum is no better than any other game forum.
Plenty remains to be seen. And I'm not sure what reddit has to do with this discussion, anyway they're having the same panicky reaction in the Mechwarrior subreddit as you are.
You just continue to cater to whatever the current popular opinion is as you've done in the past, because I can tell having people agree with you strokes your ego.

They could hand me a single player AAA version of MWO with a story and missions and Clan mechs........... and I'd ask them what the catch is.

IF
we actually get a response on this.
If they lock this, a new one will spawn, and either way, no one trusts the company anymore. This is why you don't bite the hand that feeds.
