Being our best troll doesn't make him wrong. He wants this game to succeed. Guy knows his stuff on Mechwarrior going all the way back to the original version of the tabletop game. He's usually the first one to notice when this company is aiming their weapons at their own feet. I have come to trust his word, and not because I originally wanted to. I was perfectly happy to relegate him to just another memespamming channer till I actually read the things he said. It became grudging respect that turned to actual respect for his opinion.

And it's not about defending his personal integrity in the least; he's a big boy, he can do that himself. It's about him being RIGHT. I wish he wasn't but that hasn't happened yet.

Thats just crap. Its a niche market sure, but if they wanted a bigger market they should have picked a different IP.

But to say it won't survive if it holds true to its roots is daft. Look at BloodBowl, its even niche among Warhammer fans and they made the PC -exactly- as the TT and its been around for a good long time and still getting content without micro transactions.

So why can't MWO be the same thing.

As for Emotions, I live in Eve Low-sec. The salty tears I accrue there provide all my emotional needs, this place is kind of like a holiday destination.

Because that's what MechWarrior Tactics is failing to be?

Sorry, being facetious I know. The core model for MWO is workable at least, last patch was actually some encouraging progress (and Cool Shot).

It's not a pedestal, I don't worship him. He's just an extremely reliable compass for the direction this game is heading. And there are many times when his views aren't popular opinion until much later. I had to stop dismissing him when he kept being right about all the stuff he would mention during the times he looked like a homeless guy on a street corner shouting at the sky all by himself.

And what he is saying is that Vass almost always brings things up either first, or spells it out with a well thought out argument that includes solid context.

I too used to roll my eyes but over the months my opinion on him has greatly changed.
