And when I mean double I mean x1.4

I feel the tons taken up by ammo really limit some ballistic mech builds or even just choosing to have a ballistic weapon in your mech. It's far more efficient to take less types of weapons than to mix because of this too.

For example if you have a few lasers and LRMs but wanted to squeeze like a ac/2. You would have to have low ammo on the AC/2 and then the 6 tons becomes dead weight. I find this not worth it and rather get extra heatsinks for the lasers or more LRM ammo or a mix of both.

I mean this wouldn't change this fact but It would help. I think a x1.4 boost wouldn't do much harm and would help some builds work.

What do you guys think?

Oh and this would not include machineguns since they have plenty

this is working as intended, ballistics are better in that they have higher DPS at the cost of continious fire and unlimited ammo.

I think AC/2 is, arguably, a continuous fire weapon (compared to laser at least).
