hey!

I love my K2 (2 ppc,2 lpulse,2 mg) but have not yet equipped any modules to it
mainly because i'm lacking gxp as well as cbills, but also because I'm not sure which one(s) to equip

currently I only have the single standard module slot - hope to unlock the second soon

what modules would you recommend me?
i thought about the (advanced) sensor range to help spotting enemies
second would be advanced zoom - but i heard that it is not helpful at all, is that right?
what do you think about the 360 target module?

what would be a sane and good module-loadout?

I do not want to go for consumable modules...because I don't like buying consumables

i thank you very much!

Its totally player preference.

The advanced zoom is worthless IMO because of how fuzzy the image is, but it can help sometimes at exreme range.

Sensor range is useful on just about anything, same with target info gathering.

360 target is pretty limited to specefic situations, more useful on lights than anything else IMO.

Capture accellerator is great and a must have if you are piloting something with speed.

Target decay is pretty obvious. If you are packing LRMs you should have this.

The modules that help LRM boats are the only ones that are really required to have for maximum effectivness, and cap accellerators for speedy mechs. Everything else is more a QOL upgrade and is only as important as you think it is.

I use Target Info Gathering because it's always a good idea to check out the enemy mech' condition and weapons loadout before you start to engage it. This is especially true for a sniper build such as yours.

Other than the increased sensor range one, I don't see a lot of utility for the other modules to be honest.

Target info, all day everyday. Especially in your mech.

The sooner you know what the enemy is packing, the sooner you'll know if you can stand there and peck away with the PPCs, or if you need to duck back behind cover. The sooner you know what armour sections are stripped, the faster you can rake them with MG and MPLAS fire to disarm/cripple them.

Target info is the unsung hero of the moduals. I put it on every mech every time.

since a module is a piece of hardware, can you equip and unequip it and transfer to other mechs?

Yes. They are deathly expensive too, so I recommend you only buy one and shift it around between your mechs. Slight bit of hassle, but I would rather click and drag a few things then flush 6 million cbills down the drain.

Something I learned about modules - if you spend the C-Bills on a module that has two levels, when you get the second level you do not have to re-buy. The module is just better all the sudden.

Zoom was my first module. As said before its image quality is awful. That makes it mostly useless.
I haven't tried it post patch, but for the longest time the zoom module did awful things with red targeting boxes that just jumbled your view. So if I wanted to try to really focus down on a body part at say... 400m... impossible.

Zoom module fail.

Everything above - true. Target Decay is for LRM specialists (and I love it). Sensor Range good all around. Target Info does intrigue me for sniper build but I don't own it. ...But... I can't seem to hit a body specific body part unless I'm shooting from 50m so I'll probably continue to dream about the day when my aiming skill isn't only mediocre.

Like the others have said, Target Info is the one you're looking for as a sniper. Pair it with BAP and you'll be ready to pick off any weak spot in no time at all!
