Poptarting

It's been ignored both times.
So now I'll ask here, does anyone know of any dev posts pertaining to anything to discourage poptarting?
Also, nice to see they're now consolidating questions in the ATD [/sarcasm]

Just shoot them when they pop up. It's like whack-a-mole.
Don't stop moving either, but that applies to uh... all the time.
By extension, every time you crest a hill, fire a shot and then retreat back down below the crest, you are pop-tarting.

Most of the time, depending on the distance, they drop too fast to get a solid shot off on them.
All they need to do is add cockpit shake/bad convergence while JJing.

The mech invests the tonnage and crits of their mech to carry the Jump Jets. They are allowed to fire while jumping... something even the table top rules allowed for. It's a good tactic in certain circumstances, but not really different than mechs moving forward our of cover then reversing back into cover. Or walking up and down over a ridge crest. And, they are remarkably vulnerable to return fire while they are ballistic in the air.

You should be more concerned with just how much sugar and junk they put in those things. Why not have something healthy, like a bowl of bacon.

JJ in TT gave you severe accuracy penalties. It does the opposite in this.

a shake while the JJ are being fired. but not in free fall. i'm sure they can find a way to implement that
not too big of a nerf though. 4 tons for JJ is a big investment. and should see a fair return.

Just because it isn't some ra-ra ritualistic circle of equals BS doesn't mean it should be removed.

I don't think it does. That said, JJ's ARE pretty smooth. I wouldn't be averse to a bit of rumble-shake, at least while they are firing.

Listen to this man. I love pop-tarting in my 3D, gets me 2-3 kills reliably and keeps my KDR around 4.0, nothing to see here, jumpjets are well designed, move along now.
