To hell game balance.
That's the problem now.
Weapons systems should counteract each other not balance them.
Too much ecm?
Well hell hit em with the ppc's or just close the range.
Lrm's clouding up your day?
Just poptart em and drain those salvos against a building.
Or keep that ecm mech close by.
But that requires a degree of team play and role warfare.
All this looking for game balance is unbalancing the game.

Haha yeah, because PPCs cancel the effect of ECM for all of about a nanosecond

seriously though - Novokaine - the "balance" we are seeking is when there is no strategy so dominant, that it's a pure waste of time to employ another.
Ideally, the "balanced" MWO will be faithful to Battletech lore.

Or, instead of removing bad items, we could do this magical thing called buffing them. Then, players would have more tactical options to employ to defeat their enemies as well as having to adapt to a greater variety of enemy tactics.
