There have been several threads talking about how terrible the game is due to some reason or another. We all know this is a minority group speaking loudly.

Let the majority post here. Let this Topic will be the longest going topic on the forum. This is the PGI appreciation thread.

Post what PGI has done right, and show your continued support.
Post your awesome in game experiences.
Post anything you are happy with.

PGI continues to impress me with daily updates in some form or other, and biweekly patches. This is amazing, and they definitely do listen. They have made a game with not much more than going into two game modes with various mechs, and have made it super fun, and skill based.

Please continue the hard work you are putting in!

What does everyone else have to share?

Done Right:
  • Great sound effects
  • Art style is perfect for battletech
  • mechs look amazing
  • content comes out regularly
  • TheGarth
  • New map is amazing
The game still needs a lot of balancing though and I feel there needs to be something extra to make variants even.

I appreciate their honesty in disregarding what we say in favor of the potential LCD gamer they are targeting. Most game devs aren't as forthcoming about how little they regard forum feedback. We have several examples of this and I find it refreshing. Many devs are scared of upsetting their player base, I applaud their daring and hope that the LCD gamers provide enough cash to keep the game going when the people who helped fund the game leave.

I'm torn

I love the new big maps

I love the mech selections and art.

But

I utterly loathe the idea for coolant and any prospect of 3rd person. If speculation of p2w won't kill this game, the player segregation caused by 3rd person will.

You know despite all the game flaws and short comings, which nobody will ever let a game developer forget about, have to give props to PGI for thus far making a very fun game.

I think as issues are hammered out over time this game has the potential to become something very unique and special.

So props to PGI.

I like that the guys from PGI are pretty cool dudes and they work hard to bring us an awesome game, even if there were some bumps in the road and there are going to be a few more in the future.

  • Beautiful game
  • Beautiful mechs
  • Best gameplay (IMO) of any mechwarrior to date
  • Great sound design
  • Devs are pretty cool guys, eh make games and doesn't afraid of anything.
It's got it's downsides, but as it stands and the outlook I see, the bumps shouldn't derail the PGI train. I see good things for this game. Call me an optimist.

This game is incredible!
  • Target someone with a lot more weapons than you know they can carry, so you know they dropped armor. Aim for legs, watch ammo explosion.
  • Run into a brawl smash two kills and run out victorious and try to tell me you don't feel that rush
  • I was brawling a commando with my wang *hey-o*, and he got greedy over heated, and I walked slowly behind him and hit him executioner style with the ac-20. His dead mech body flew forward and just fell limp. Way cool animation!

The Game can give a great gaming experience - though if the 3 strikes rule would be apllied to the devs they were already migrated to the sewers of the electronic antichrist working in chains for dry bread and mud water

I am not even sure if that would be much of a change to them :P

I think what they have done so far is great, everything that is or will be wrong seems to be fixed...I am content with everything they have achieved.

It all boils down to fun.

What is the least fun? The forums.

What is the most fun? The game.

What is even more fun? The huge rivers of male nerd rage tears flowing from the forums. :P

I have my very own PGI appreciation thread that I keep here http://mwomercs.com/profile/credits

I also like to think that PGI staff go to sleep on a full stomach, ready to work on what is sub-optimal about the game thanks to the aforementioned appreciation thread.

Whether they go to bed happy or not based on your appreciation thread or mine is not my problem.

i don't necessarily like everything PGI does - especially that they let us wait for more concept art!
but yet i do feel comfortable and think that mechwarrior is in the right hands

yet i do hope that PGI/IGP don't become to greedy
