Hello everyone,

At the moment, when you purchase a module, you only own 1 of them, meaning that you can equip the module only on 1 mech.

When you start to have many mechs, and enjoy switching between them (diversity of gameplay is what makes MWO so awesome!) it becomes very hard to track which modules are on each mechs. Because of this, many people end up not using modules much, even if they have invested several millions C-bills in them!

So here is my purposal: Do you think it would be good to be able to equip the modules you have bought on any mechs you own?

This will mean that if, as an example, you have the capture accelerator module, you can equip it on your jenner, your centurion and your dragon. So when you will start a game with thoses mechs, the modules will be configured as you wanted without having to go in the mechlab between each matches.

The alternative of this suggestion is to make the modules cheap.
With modules costing millions of c-bills, there's no way anyone will buy multiple of the same module. So we're doomed to unmount and mount modules each game. It feels like PGI designed it to be unpleasant.

If modules' cost was decent, lets say like 50K c-bills per unit (of course still need to unlock them with GXP), we could equip each mech with modules.

But if modules cost millions (which is the prize of a mech!), it's just counter-productive design not to allow player to mount it on all mechs.

You are right Epikt, it would be a good alternative solution!

The game needs C-bill sinks. Either purchase multiple modules for convenience, or remove and re-install them for economy. You do not buy one ERPPC and expect to have it equipped on 20 different mechs at once, do you?

Sorry, but the devs said that the modules are some kind of endgame content... and it's a highly needed money sink, so NO, don't make the modules cheaper!

And btw. you already can equip a module on every mech you want... it's an item like a weapon or an engine, so what's wrong with that?

Modules should be something special that is hard to achieve.
That's part of the game to always have something to work on, it'd be boring to get every mech fully equiped in a very short period of time and people would play less, because they've maxed out everything.

I was going to chastise you for a redundant poll, but this one has fallen to pg 14 so I can forgive you for not digging deep enough.

"C-bills sinks" need to be balanced in order to really be sinks, not just pain in the players ***.
At the current cost, NO WAY I will ever buy the same module twice. I always will have something more useful to buy for the money, another mech for exemple.

Yes, that's the thing: Modules are hard to get mainly because of their GXP cost, the additionnal Cbill cost is ok, but multiplying it because you have to buy several in order to make the modules usage user friendly is completly ridiculous.

A module is different than an engine or a weapon (that's why they have their own tab in the mechlab!), they take way more time to get if you don't put MC's in Xp conversion (I am at 2000+ matches and I don't have them all).

If you wanna play with new mechs and enjoy the diversity of gameplay, you will never buy several times the same modules and will most likely not use them, as you don't want to have your teammates wait 5 minutes for you between each matches to go on a module chase. I have only 8 mechbays, and I find it annoying, imagine someone with 20+ mechs!

So the most active players of the community, the ones that have put thousands of MCs just to buy mechbays and be able to play the mechs they like when they want ends up being the most annoyed by the current system.

I think this should work more closely to how DHS works. You pay to open the module with both gxp and c-bills, but you have to buy the modules themselves after the fact and they become like mech parts. This includes the interchangeability. Unlike DHS you would only have to make the 2-6 million c-bill purchase once to open the option up and it stands for all mechs.

Once you pay the GXP and c-bills cost you should be able to equip the module on as many mechs as you want. its mostly just a convenience thing anyway since people just transfer them between mechs anyway.

If it is such a pain, buy an additional module. If it isn't, don't. Whining about it and feeling entitled does not help anything.

I am sorry you are annoyed. Either buy duplicate modules or learn to deal with it. You are not owed anything.

I voted no, I own 65 mechs.

I would pay the same amount for all of those as you would for four of yours.

Balanced? Not hardly.
