LRM's are a support weapon, the Lrms were fine prior to 2 patchs ago. No way should the easiest weapon in the game do the most damage . Artimas when it was changed does way to much damage to one area of the mech. You people crying about the lrm nerf should relax. Who wants to core an atlas in 2 shots of LRm 20 alvos. Put LRMs back in with no splash damage an

The gist of it is that 2 patches ago the damage LRM's did were fine. However right now, LRM's are a waste of tonnage, and frankly they are. To "core" an Atlas 2 patches ago would require 5 salvos of LRM50 with the Atlas not taking cover. Now it would take 12 salvos of LRM50's for the same Atlas.

Yes, cause pointing and clicking to fire Ballistics and Lasers are oh so much harder? Don't kid yourselves. None of the weapons are hard to use.
Besides LRMs are the easiest to avoid and counter. With far more counters than any other weapon.

i dunno about waste of tonnage but they are very under powered since the hot fix
I dont want them back to the deathly rain they were pre hot fix but close to what they were before the last major patch would be nice
I barely register damage with them as they are now

Yeah I always laugh my arse off when someone writes about how hard ballistics and PPC's are in regards to LRM's.
-Ballistics/PPC don't shut off completely at Min range
-Ballistics/PPC can still do damage up to 2X's their listed ranges, LRM's do not
-Ballistics/PPC do not give a 3 second warning when firing them
-Ballistics/PPC do not have a weapons system set up to block them from working

As much as the developers at Piranha has F'd up implementing LRM's, they should remove ECM and LRM from the game. Piranha has made LRM's so useless no one is using them, and without LRM's in the game, their so called "electronic warfare" is **** up.

LRMs are in a temporary state. Most probably more temporary than any other weapon's state. I do not know how this is such a hard concept to grasp.

Though I would agree that the hotfix screwed non-boaters of missiles, but that is typically the way such things go. And LRMs definitely needed fixing after Tuesday, though those were some hilarious games.

Because you have threads applauding the LRM changes saying " LOL PGI this missile nerf is great! ", you naturally have threads that say, "Hey, PGI, LRMS are crap now :D "

LRMs have never worked like that against anyone with half a brain except when they were falling on peoples heads with that one Artemis patch.

What people want is a weapon system worth it's weight, and worth it's disadvantages. Currently LRMs are neither.

Ok, so tell me, how many shots do you want to need, to kill one mech with one LRM 20?

So you are talking bad about the actual LRMs, but you have no idea for a solution.

LRMs were always a waste of tonnage, with the exception of pre-hotfix on this latest patch, and pre-hotfix on the original artemis patch

it wasn't the damage nerf that killed them
it wasn't ecm that killed them
it wasn't the giant 'INCOMING MISSILE" sign that pops up when you're locked
it wasn't even the patch back in closed beta that made them break lock when you broke line of sight, though that was probably the nail in the coffin

a weapon that you can't control if it hits, nor where it'll hit, that takes as long to reach target as lrms, is simply bad. lrms kill newbs, and they kill targets that are already on the run (in which case your brawlers would've killed them shortly thereafter anyways)

How many solutions can one suggest exactly? You can up the damage and or increase the flight speed. What other solutions would there be, exactly?
