Good Shots, Or Cheats? Opinions?

Second match: Same mech, except in tourmaline desert. After 3 minutes we are in position and the enemy is 800m towards the ship wreckage. Our cataphract is sniping when suddenly it dies. One shot. Our Jagermech runs over to take his place and gets shot in the cockpit in the process. I go to help my teammates behind me getting attacked. Our atlas was at 90%. I looked back and he was dead in a few seconds. The match was only 4 minutes in and more than half of our team was dead. I disconnected at the last second because I didn't feel like dealing with it.

That being said, aimbot.exe does exist but without being there I couldn't hazard a guess on whether anyone was cheating.

I've seen worse rolls though. 7th Division's record is 2 minutes to kill all 8 enemies.

I'm going to say that it was a good shot,because of the limitations of aimbots. Since the structures of different 'mechs are so wildly different, and since you can only hit the cockpit from certain angles, there's no good way to get an aimbot to reliably shoot at the head. Okay, well I imagine it might be possible to get a bot to do crazy headshots and stuff, but it's an awful lot of work for mediocre returns. I'll bet money all the existing aim assists for mechwarrior aim for the center of the 'mech, and that's it.
I also doubt your story about an atlas twitching around. Twist speed is server controlled. Honestly, aimbots in general are only of limited value in this game.

No problem, it's just that I've seen worse (from both sides), so I couldn't pass judgement based on an after-action report without a visual aid of what actually happened.

Aye - well co-ordinated, outfitted and skilled 4 mans can wipe a lackluster team in minutes. Also, you should keep track of what damaged your head: some chasis are quite easy to headshot with highly localized-damage sniper builds. Especially if they are standing still. While i've never been accused of aimbotting, a few of my lance mates definitely have just because of such builds / damage localization.

There is also a way to hack the zoom settings in the client so I have heard so if this is the case sounds like that might have been it.
