First match: Took my Hunchback 4P into frozen city. Enemies 500m behind hill. I crest the hill for two seconds and my head is gone. Sustained no damage anywhere else. I went into spectator mode and watched an atlas twitch around shooting things in the center torso with ease.

Second match: Same mech, except in tourmaline desert. After 3 minutes we are in position and the enemy is 800m towards the ship wreckage. Our cataphract is sniping when suddenly it dies. One shot. Our Jagermech runs over to take his place and gets shot in the cockpit in the process. I go to help my teammates behind me getting attacked. Our atlas was at 90%. I looked back and he was dead in a few seconds. The match was only 4 minutes in and more than half of our team was dead. I disconnected at the last second because I didn't feel like dealing with it.

CT hits aren't too hard, mechs all have huge hitboxes compared to previous games (the way arms work helps alot too). Headshots are harder, but it's not unreasonable to get headshotted by a good player...I'm not a good player but when I drink too much wine I start dishing out AC40 headshots like nobody's business.

That being said, aimbot.exe does exist but without being there I couldn't hazard a guess on whether anyone was cheating.

I'd need to see the video.

I've seen worse rolls though. 7th Division's record is 2 minutes to kill all 8 enemies.

I've pulled off perfect headshots before. A couple were intentional, a couple were pure luck.

I'm going to say that it was a good shot, because of the limitations of aimbots. Since the structures of different 'mechs are so wildly different, and since you can only hit the cockpit from certain angles, there's no good way to get an aimbot to reliably shoot at the head. Okay, well I imagine it might be possible to get a bot to do crazy headshots and stuff, but it's an awful lot of work for mediocre returns. I'll bet money all the existing aim assists for mechwarrior aim for the center of the 'mech, and that's it.

I also doubt your story about an atlas twitching around. Twist speed is server controlled. Honestly, aimbots in general are only of limited value in this game.

I think most people aim for center of mass. Especially at range. With my erppcs, if you're not moving, i'll put multiple alphas on your CT in very short order.

Syllogy, I do not have video, sorry :/
I wasn't anticipating any of this to happen.

No problem, it's just that I've seen worse (from both sides), so I couldn't pass judgement based on an after-action report without a visual aid of what actually happened.

Aye - well co-ordinated, outfitted and skilled 4 mans can wipe a lackluster team in minutes. Also, you should keep track of what damaged your head: some chasis are quite easy to headshot with highly localized-damage sniper builds. Especially if they are standing still. While i've never been accused of aimbotting, a few of my lance mates definitely have just because of such builds / damage localization.

I have been shot in the head multiple times in previous matches, and the cause was understandable. However, shooting someone in the head almost the instant they appear takes some ludicrous aiming and fast action.

I was in the tunnel in that ice map once and came round the corner and bang there is a capy right there, I clicked of my dual Gauss and bang the cockpit just exploded, the mech was at 100% everything but had ammo in its cockpit. Not sure if something like this happened.

There is also a way to hack the zoom settings in the client so I have heard so if this is the case sounds like that might have been it.

Mind you, as you become more acclimatized to the game and player behaviour, as a sniper you start to anticipate approach vectors and firing angles and anticipating the shot you will be taking next. Many good sniper shots are prepared well before the mech appears =) This is especially true with poptart sniping: if you try and aim only whilst you are in the air, your operating margin becomes absolutely tiny! You need to know what you will be seeing as soon as you gain elevation and start aiming towards where enemy mechs will most likley be positioned.
