If you can bring evidence to the forum, isn't the court of public opinion an effective tool?

I was just in a match and witnessed a failed sync drop... about 2 seconds into the match, three players all with KUR tags all disconnect at the same time. They screwed their team, ruined the match for the rest of us and all around just wasted 10 minutes of our lives... all out of an attempt to sync drop, probably to milk the tournament....

I could easily have screenshot that, shown [USERNAME] has disconnected, x3, as well as a screenshot showing their names and they all belong to the same faction and posted them here.

So then... why can't we? It frankly only seems like a net positive... people know to watch out for certain asshats, and hopefully people get shamed into not being ******.

Send in a support ticket. Really, there is no point criticizing people who may never even read it in the forums.

Heresay.

Not all evidence is concrete. And trial by forums? These forums? No thanks.

people get buttmad over everything.

Giving any more reason to troll this forum would be a mistake. It is already of no use at all.

Maybe someone could forge screenshots and falsely accuse people s/he doesn´t like (for whatever personal reasons).

Even if such a thing would be found out and would finally be corrected (by the mods for example) the reputation of the falsely accusated person would be damaged (as in real life, a public accusation usually is enough ... even if the false accusation is disproved, there would be enough people who read the accusation, but not the rebuttal, or who believe the accuser more, than the mods who disproved his accusation).

Not to mention the fact that the mods would have lots of work to mod thzese name and shame threads (and find the truth between the public accusations (and pounish those people who falsely publicly accused someone of something)).

I can understand why the mods aren´t eager to open such a box of Pandora :(

Because if we could, there'd be a wall of text thread by me about every moron that I ever met in the game.

Name and Shame threads are just troll threads that quickly degrade into flame wars, lacking anything constructive. You can discuss issues without having that problem simply by following the restriction. If someone is breaking rules, they want it sent to them privately, not displayed publicly. A public display advertises the problem for others to do it and warns the guy to cease doing it. Basically, there's a lot of reasons why this rule exists. I should add that if it didn't exist, then every thread would be about other users or be doing it. The whole forum would be drowned in it, and there would be 100x more flame wars. Basically, the whole forum would be K Town. NTY.

Edit: Btw, wrong section.

You are right ... peer pressure by the community would be a bad thing. It is better to be Politically Correct than for someone running around team killing and being a detriment to the community to be called out for it and hurt their feelings.

Just because all 3 players were in the same faction and disconnected at the same time you are 100% sure it was a failed sync drop and they did it intentionally?

I see a disconnect in just about every match I play, 3 at the same time is unusual, but it might have just been a coincidence. Several players on the same team from the same faction doesn't mean they are dropping together.

This is why name and shame is not allowed. You are making assumptions based purely on circumstantial evidence and want to call these players out to try and hurt their reputations, just because they caused you to lose one game.

Why you can not name and shame on these forums!

Lesson one:
Someone could frame evidence against you. The forumites are not able to check serverlogs for truth. You are completly innocent but forever done for in this game.

Lesson two:
Lesson one should be enough reason!

Closed!

If you come across a player who is violating the code of conduct, write a mail to support@mwomercs.com, with any evidence you can come up with.
