Completing secondary objectives for more profit is fine.(they dont end the game) Completing primary objectives without combat is for *******!!!

Assult mode does not have any secondary objectives. It just has 2 primary objectives. One is to destroy all enemies, the other is for *******!!!!!

Combat does not equate to shooting. :) That is your first mistake.

As defined by the game type.

I gave you the game type so what is the definition of the objective you need to achieve if you want to win in TDM?

A still doesnt = B, C, or D
A by itself > B+C+D

Your still wrong.

A= TDM
B = Kill all Mechs

I must be getting pretty damn old, because to me those 2 things say EXACTLY the same thing in different words. Then again, your last 3 posts or so make it pretty obvious that you`re intentionally dodging admitting this, anyway, so it is to be assumed that yoiu are very much aware of the uncanny similarity, merely unwilling to admit it`s detriment to your earlier line of argumentation. Use the entire map for an infinite number of possible tactics and strategies. True TDM

As opposed to using only part of the map, for only a handful of tactics and strategies.. Assault mode base capping.

Absurd.

Pick the strongest position. Camp.

There, an analogue to your insane generalization of assault, only more accurate.

On Alpine, the chances of two groups never meeting up (or not finishing off each other) wasting 15 minutes that would have been shortened by capping magically increases dramatically.

Congrats, the new QQ is born!

It's worse when both teams camp @ their spawn. Then the standoff begins!

Exciting matches!

EXcept being someone who has wrote tournament scenarios, TDM is a grinder scenario and killing the enemy is mainly a secondary objective for the good ones..

Air strikes. Artillery strikes. Please do camp. Thanks.

But... really, what makes a position good for camping when there are no bases?

Long tom is great for breaking up a fortified position. B) It is very effective in MW:LL.

Never seen it happen and what fools would do that? Most bases have horrible cover and are just asking for you to get picked off at range by a team who can get cover.

You assume this is news? TDM players know how the game is played. And yet, they are still voting for it.

Oh, and you dont have to play this mode. Thats the beauty of having more choices.

You see... I hate assault mode and conquest mode. There are no other choices. So what do I do?

I dont play.

Poll needs a regular "no" or an abstain option.

this game needs TDM, at least till we get some better modes. capture the square sucks.

That is an ambiguous question. Every game in existence has the same objective. To win.

Obviously you aren't familiar with classic cinema.

Also, your poll is biased and you should feel bad.

Pack up tunnel forest colony. All eight of you. Never leave. No artillery. No sniping. No LRMs. No airstrikes. Wait out your opponents. The first scout that comes in dies instantly. Congrats, you are up 1-0. Now they know you are there, and there isn't a ******* thing they can do about it, because if they try to shuffle in one by one, they will be immediately alpha'd by a minimum of four people. The best they can do is never check it out and tie. You literally cannot be beaten.

It beggars belief that you did not immediately think of something like this. Have you played a videogame before?

I mean, Call of Duty has one of the least organized, most chumpy groups of players I've ever seen and TDM matches always end up like this, not to mention the fact that the tools for dislodging campers are FAR more powerful than they are in MWO. They actually had TDM in a variety of games at MLG, but it was so ******* terrible they abandoned it in favor of CTF / domination etc.

TDM is good, clean, dumb fun. That's what it is. That's what it's always been since the removal of powerful map resources like the shield belt from UT99, or the red armor from Quake. Whatever the setup, whatever the resources, there is an optimal position on a map. Competitive teams will park themselves there, and that will be that.

I hope they do because it will get you folks playing a different mode instead of bitching at the end of every match that ends in a base cap. that alone to me is worth the developer time.
