I can't even begin to discuss how wrong this statement is...MMO's have some of the richest backstories in all of gaming, and your claim that borrowing from other games will land you in court couldn't be more off...

Like I said I find it hard to put into words how wrong you are...

My apologies, let me clarify, based off of IP's not built themselves...

When i mean "i do not care" it means that consumers will not care (as i make an extrapolation):

you come, you play if you don't like it you go away and never return. It is not like you will tell them in a year "guys come back, we have drastically improved". The game should be playable and addicitve from the very begining.

The game is open, PGI has premium accounts. The word BETA is just a formality.
In today's world it means nothing, it is a release the same day it is open to public.

P.S. and i would be scared to know what is the online rate of the game now...

Does that mean the word "virgin" is nothing more than a formality? LOL

How many low profile trolls here...
When i go to War Thunder or anything the game is playable with key features on. Here it is not. And noone who is new to the game will understand "The developers will add 90% of the gameplay someday" they will just walk away.

The game is almost a year old and it has moved nowhere since the begining in terms of gameplay (like 5 mechs added?)

Go discuss OP Jagermech configs and LL range. This for sure will bring you thousands of players.

MOD please close the topic (or delete).

If you are f***ed in the arse then probably yes :lol: . It's all depends on the context.

How many of those MMO's were based on IP's not created themselves? If I'm wrong then by all means I'll state as such, I should have been a bit more clear in my inital statement of within an established IP.

Given that was true, the AC20 would be at about... Level 53. LOL :lol:

It would be available from level 1 just not on the best configs. Simple.

Ahhh Ok got it. Gotta wait/grind/play to get the best configs, Weapons, Mechs, Upgrades. Sorta like it is now right?

Best stuff costs more Space Bucks... Cool.

What is the motivation to grind/play now? НYou can buy everything at once now.
I have founder account and i do not know where to spend... i have the mechs i want, and there is no point (mathematical) to play further
(Stuff costs money in almost all the games which involve levelling)

Motivation
->Optimize all builds
->Elite all mechs
->Unlock all modules
->Find a new game? Or find a girl/boyfriend?

Btw: When CW comes in there will be even more reasons to play :lol:
Hawken has a leveling system, and the grinding is horrendous...

I don't want to play a game for months to unlock the equipment I want.

The key problems with MWO is as stated before and will be stated again.

-Community Warfare
No I dont need to go read some forum post from last year about how they are going to have this or going to have that. Ultima Online was going to have living world where deer eat grass, wolves eat deer, and dragons eat everything. That didnt happen did it?

-Factions...
More than just a pretty badge by your name.

-Out of combat chat
No I dont mean private messages to my friends on my friends list.

-No more Flavor of the month weapons.
Every month there is a new "OP" weapon, that has to be nerfed in the next patch.

There are a great deal of promisses that PGI made when they first put out information for the game. And so far they have half-a55ed most of them. I understand they are trying to put out a product as fast as possible, but there comes a time when you as a man have to cowboy up and admit you bit off more than you can chew, and just change things. Tell the client that you will not be able to produce what you said you could, and you are going to release a simplified version of what you were going to do. In hopes that one day in the future you will be able to flesh out that simple game into the far more complex game that you promised.

You saggest me to play 4 variants of dragon to get the most of the game? Are you serious?
What you have listed is not a casual player goal.
Casual player goal is: reach rank X to get Cat K1, oh and then i want that mech and then... (to infinity with DLC's)

There is a reason why people use levelling system and it is simple:
Give casual players a goal. Make grinding interesting.
What happens now:
i can donate once and buy the mech i want. I will play 3 days and then what?

Rejecting viable business/gameplay model may cost a lot.

P.S. I'm not trolling everyone. I love mechwarrior and i do not want it to die.I just see a hole that needs to be fixed ASAP

Best place to go from your PoV then is to play with a group of friends. I'm part of a group of gamers who are over the age of 25...

You're right. MWO needs a heavy influx of content very very soon. And not just a simplified HTML universe map showing how so and so planet is in danger of being taken over. It needs at least twice the content we are seeing, and not just in the form of mechs and weapons.

The game doesn't even have music....You have 15 mechs, and an assortment of weapons, and you go on 5 maps. That's it.

And as a Founder, you have a 18 months head start. Do you not read the Threads about the brutal, near dictatorial, grind for the NEW players?

Now you would have them add more Grind to get the best STUFF?

Motivation? It is a Game and it is Fun? Should there really be a need for other criterion when one plays a computer Game?

Yep, thats what i will do in the end (what i did in MW4 NBT Hardcore) and i will be happy about it.
I'm trying to look from the eyes of the casual gamer, because if there none of them, the game dies and
i cannot play with my friends in drops :lol:

Actually a level idea is a good one because thats what players are used to these days.
Even BF3 has switched to a level system. (Cue all the bitching replies berating me for comparing MWO to a 'proper' FPS).

It gives players something to aim at and they will keep coming back to level up - as you level up you unlock various things.

In fact i would go as far to say that it should be switched to a level system and players can only use Lights to start off in order to learn the game - up to the game makers where/when people can buy the other Mechs. Every 10 levels you can pilot the next tier of Mech?
Or they could have a Tree system where people can specialise in certain tiers of Mech.
I'm just throwing ideas around..

Rather this than have one off battles with Trial mechs and then leave - having spent no real money and not been sucked in.

Thats the key - this game needs to suck people in.

Unfortunately with a post like this and with the Elitist community that seems to be building up for this game now, the Trolls and the people jumping on the odd word rather than the whole post...you will just be shot down.

but battlefield 3 is bad compared to just about all the other battlefield games...

This is true, though the Merc Corps and other recruitment threads I've created attracted mostly casual players to our group.

The OP might be interested in Community Warfare (first described before the game was even coded), which is the "Lore-Based" part of the game that's being unveiled over the course of this Summer. The Developers have recently mentioned several times that Community Warfare is one of the most significant subsections of the game being worked on right now.

It will include social functions, House vs House warfare, Mercenary contracts, and many other things that tie the Big Stompy Robot combat we've been beta testing all together in a BattleTech Universe-environment. There are nigh countless planets to conquer, all BT Canon, and plenty of chances for us to get in character and fight honorably for our favorite factions. The more recent Ask The Devs answers contain little bits here and there about how the game is currently progressing, including some updates about Community Warfare.
