I have had this happen on more then one occasion. By the same players no less. They will head straight for me without line of sight or sensor ping. Tourmaline: Beyond Visual Range to the enemy and myself. Suddenly 3 mechs pop up on visual. My ecm commando is behind crystal with just my head sticking up. The 3 mechs are not veering left or right but headed straight at me and from the way they were headed at me they were already making a bee line to me b4 I saw them. Now this would seem ok if say another mech was near me eyeballing me but thier entire team was in the direction they came from because the rest of my teram was pinging them. So my question is.... What is going on? as for my line of sight, I run a radeon 7770 and can see mechs up to 1600 meters away or so. From now on I will be running fraps so I can catch this on a video.

You can see through the shards on Tourmaline with the current implementation of thermal. So they can see you even when you are supposedly hidden behind them.

yeah heat signals show through the crystals, so you're not as hidden as you might think (either a bug or something to do with the giant tourmaline shards)

Hard to say without video. Fraps is a good idea. If you see those players again, start recording and see if you can catch that tidbit of trolling.

I know one time, I was fighting someone who mocked me when he tore me apart with a cheese build. Next time I saw him, I snuck around the firing lines solo and came in behind him and his 4 man and laid into him with everything I had. Sometimes it just happens and isn't because of cheating. Then again sometimes people do modify their files to cheat.

Edit: Or as the guys said above. I didn't know you can; but I haven't been able to play since day two of the patch. Broke my computer.

Could also be they had a teammate who did see you from one of those high vantage points and called out you position.

Just did Tourmaline on training ground and I could not create the seeing thru crystals that was mentioned above. also no one has addressed the fact that they saw me Beyond Visual Range. Does heat vision allow you to see further then normal? Got a screenie showing no bleed thru on heat vision with the crystals. if I can figure how to get it uploaded I will post it.

Or maybe they justr happened to be planning on passing through the location you happened to be in so that beeline towards you was just them heading in your direction.

Thermals trumps ECM at the moment, allowing a mech to be seen at range when it won't show up on radar. That is on the list of things to change in an uncoming patch.

I can confirm this. If you look to the top of some of the crystal spikes with a mech up there, you can see them through the crystal with heat vision on. I'll take a screen grab of it next time I'm on Tourmaline.
