Just curious what sort of numbers people have across the community.

Some players sell mechs as soon as they've mastered the chassis and make do with just the 4 provided mech bays. Others keep every mech they buy and add enough bays to hold them all.

What strategy do you take? How many mechs and bays do you have currently?

The game comes with 4, 5, or 8 mech-bays:
Non-founder: 4
Elite founder: 5
Legendary founder: 8

(not that you can become a founder any more, but my game still came with 8 bays, 4 of which were filled with 'mechs)

I have way more mechbays than I need because I only have 3 mechs that matter.

My Jenner D, Jenner D, and my Jenner D (yes I have 3).

Thanks, I've adjusted the language on the 5-8 option to note that it includes Founders.

Wow! I didn't realize some had that many. I've adjusted the poll questions to add additional answers beyond "46 or more". Hopefully that helps. :D

15 mechs, 15 bays. Sold one of my commandos once in CB, filled that slot with a TDK when it arrived. I keep all mechs I buy nowadays, never know when you want to try something different.

I own 23 mechs with 25 mech bays.

1 Assault (AWS-8Q), 6 Heavies (2 Dragons, 2 Cataphracts, and 2 Jagermechs), 9 Mediums (2 Trebuchets, 3 Centurions, 2 Hunchbacks, and 2 Cicadas), 2 Lights (2 Commandos) and the 4 Founder's Mechs.

For some reason, I can not remember what my 23rd mech is. Either way...

12 Mechs, 13 Mech bays (will be adding a Treb as soon as I figure out which one I want).

3 Jenners, 3 Cents, 3 'phracts and 3 Spiders; all kitted out and good to go (including a total of 10 XL engines) apart from the modules.

Yeah, very simple really. 70 and 75 ton mechs are what I play, and it's been that way since I first started playing mechwarrior.

Of course, the timberwolf and the summoner are my personal favourites, but the phract has really earned a place in my heart, which is why I have all 5 of them. Kind of decided not to spend any more on this game due to the developers doing some... questionable things lately.

But I'll probably get some more bays once the orion is realeased, depending on what happens in the near future. Just release the bloody orion already!

Janos : "... So many mercenaries with entire companies or more of mechs... I wants them... Hmm... *plots* A-HA! I know! I'll lure them into a contract, then confiscate their mechs! Oh, wait, I did that before. Hmm... oh, I know! COOKIES! Yes, that plan is so cunning it cannot fail! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA*cough cough wheeze* Okay, now where's the brandy... ... SNORD!"

(yeah, yeah, I know he's dead by now, just take the joke for what it is :D )

12 'mechs (4 founder, 3 Commandos, 3 Centurions, 2 Spiders)
13 bays

I was all a-flutter when the Spider was about to hit, purchasing three bays for them the day of the patch. Took the 5D through Basic easily enough, but then I started in on the 5K... And it's painful. MGs are in such a pitiful state it's not even funny any more. I may give up on the Spider altogether and just wait for the Flea.

I went with the AC2(3t ammo) and a mlas on the 5k and never looked back. I have about the same amount of fun running it as I do the 5D. The spiders are the most fun mech on tourmaline and imo everyone should give that map a try in one. It's like an amusement park ride with the combo of speed and JJ.

5K works best as a long range mech, an ERLLas is pretty much heat neutral with the 10 in-engine DHS. Then load up on jump-jets and whatever utility you fancy. I went for 4MGs + 1 ton of ammo for the slight damage boost and crit-seeking but you could go AMS and BAP instead.

5V is the worst of the bunch, most firepower you can get is 2MPLas and whilst 12 JJs is pretty neat it doesn't make up for the extra weapons and ECM on the 5D.

I'm working through my elite skills now. 5K was first, now I'm in the bad-times with the 5V. When I get back to the 5D it should be a breath of fresh air.
