As a relatively new player, my only regret is that the time after this build-a-trial competition was not the time before I started. Offering good trial mechs will seriously improve the new player experience, so please consider continuing these competitions into the future! And into the past, if you can swing it - suiciding a Jenner was just painful.

As a Word of Lowtax member and Winner of the FIRST EVER build a trial contest, I wholly support this general sentiment and will gleefully submit more robots for the next contests, should they happen.

It's quite strange that I haven't seen any Reddit people in this thread. You'd think they'd want to weigh in on the OP's ideas.

Was that a typo?

Yes, but it was too funny to fix.

Yes, thank you PGI. While I am sad none of my builds were selected, I had fun building them and seeing everyone elses creative designs (and I can take comfort knowing that I wont have to face them on the battlefiled ;) )

However I would be opposed to using any thrid part site that requires seperate authentication/login credentials.

Neither Smurfy's or Mechromancer requires login credentials.

I think it's one of those ideas that a few people had independently, to be fair (I recall someone else suggesting it and tossing the idea in a themittani.com article) - it's that whole "Ideaspace" thing that Alan Moore's been known to talk about.

right and i don't claim this as my exclusive idea or so.

it's just good to know that these things find there way into the game and that they listen to us :)

Oh, yeah, didn't think you were doing. It's just interesting that people tend to come up with similar ideas at the same time. Although that's off topic for this thread!

Well I guess since it reinforces the idea that this contest was worth it, is decidedly on-topic.

Having 1 community designed trial mech each cycle will greatly help the new player experience so I hope they keep it up, even cycling back in old winning designs if there is a shortage of new ones.

I really think this contest was a great idea and I would be happy if it happened again! It would be great to give new pilots a chance to be a real force on the battlefield or to let a veteran experiment briefly on a new chassis without wasting money on something they don't like!
