Well, it was one of the choices in that poll that Garth put up recently.

I think it looks like crap, and I agree about the slow mediums.

55 tons, base 220 engine. Essentially Hunchback speed. Not really worth getting bent about it. IS News had a few entries about Charger redesigns a while back. Still no Charger announcement, so may or may not be a hint at the 55 tonner.

Obviously the OP's desire for a Dervish overrides all other desires for anything else, how silly of us to think otherwise.

A little tidbit about the Hoplite...

Before the Dragoons showed up, there were NO working Hoplites in the IS, no one made them, they were a lost Star League design. The Dragoons showed up with some thinking the IS would have them still...imagine their surprise when people started asking just where in the hells they got those long vanished Hoplites from!

Upsetting is a relative term. The OP clearly felt the desire to make a post about it, so it was important to him. Why does that matter?

That is a finished piece of artwork, not sure what you mean about a mock-up. It looks awesome in the sense that a polished terd looks cooler than a fresh terd but it's still a terd. Edit: Correct spelling of t u r d is apparently unavailable.

Being less ugly than the Hunchback isn't the goal though. Obviously we are talking about opinion here, so I'm not sure what to tell you other than I find it to be extremely ugly. Compared to a graceful beast like the Timber Wolf, it's almost laugh-inducing.

You mean the poll that was put up just over a year ago that was necro'd recently?

There is a Hoplite that has ECM. More medium mechs with ECM the better.

MANY ISN news flashes have listed a large number of mechs that have never been announced for release. You can't take an ISN as a real mech announcement, and if you did, there are lots more mechs that predate the Hoplite isn post.

ISP news have covered lots of stuff that haven't yet come live in the game and lots of stuff that never will, it's just fluff to expand and immerse the lore for the player base. The majority I think haven't played tabletop BattleTech since the 80's
So no need to fret (yet)

From what I recall of the poll results the Dervish was leading by a margin. I would prefer a faster medium.

The Hoplite is an almost extinct dead-end Medium Mech with a poor top end speed..
Just an infantry support Mech with decent armor..
