Is There Any Reason To Buy The Stk-4N

STK-5M
Has 5 missile launchers, the most of any stalker.
STK-3H
Has missile launchers can fire 20 X 2 in one go, giving it the best alpha.
STK-5S->-STK-3F>STK-4N
The STK-5S has 6 laser and 4 launchers and 2 ams, the STK-3F losses 1 of the ams (but gets a wider torso twist range or so I have read) and then STK-4N loses a arm missile hard point.
Am I missing something or is the STK-4N just worse ?
-Thanks

Low agility and only missile and energy hard points leave them with serious heat issues.
But if you must the 4N has 20 missile ports in the arms instead of the usual 10. This means a LRM20 launches in 1 wave instead of 2.

Maybe not for you. Some of the best assault pilots in the game pilot Stalkers though.

6 PPC boats does not a good pilot make, sure it's harder than a streakcat. The good pilot is the spider who solo's it.

Quite right, my bad. And the answer is still no on the stalkers. I only ever bought them because I reached mastery level with every other mech out there so why not.

The real answer is no mech that is available for Cbills should be bought with real money.

It (the 4N) was my second stalker. The 3H being my first.
I found it to be a good one for a balanced range rig, if nothing else because the asymmetrical build forces the thought of "Oh sure I'll throw an LRM-15 in there."
I'd run a 280 or 275. Throw in two SRM-6s in the side torsos, an LRM-15 in the right arm. Artemis optional. 6 medium lasers. Beagle Active Probe to consume some extra weight. Two tons of LRM ammo, and 4 tons of SRM ammo. Lots of forward armor of course.
Btw. Third stalker was 3F. I'm running the 5S as my fourth stalker. Honestly this is the worst one I've used thus far. With an identical build to my 3F and 3H, trading one heat sink for an additional AMS and a little more armor, I honestly don't like it.
The 5M has a flaw, in that one launcher is a single tube that fires them in an easy to destroy stream, so anyone with an AMS can nullify that launcher easily. Also the biggest launcher you equip goes into the NARC single tube launcher, EVERY time. So you can't make it work out.

Perhaps. The STK-4N has better heat management than the other STK variants because it has more heat sinks, at the cost of hard points. For the new STK pilot, this may be a critical factor in learning heat management. For experienced STK pilots who understand heat management, it could be a hindrance.
For my style, the 4N was and remains a great investment. It's medium ranged alpha is absolutely stunning and if it doesn't destroy the future victim, two more hits will. While I also own the 3F and M, the 4N still sees quite a bit of action, the M the least.

It was my first too, I just filled it with 6X Large Lasers and gave it a go. As soon as I got the 3F, 5M and 3 H I got rid of it. Why? The other 3 outclass it in every way. It's not a bad mech, in fact it's good, but the other Stalkers are much better.

But in the future it might be a really useful item.
