[Blue Hymn]

Just curious - what names do you call out to inform your team when you spot an enemy mech with a certain configuration?

For me, it goes like this:

Catapult with 6srm6 = Splat cat
Catapult with Ac20s = Boom Cat
Catapult with Dual Gauss = Snipe Cat
Catapult with conventional lrms = Missile boat

Jagermech with 4ac2/ac5 = Jaeger
Jagermech with 2Ac20s = Jaeger Bomb
Jagermech with 4UAC5s = Jaeger Nuclear f***over

Conventional Atlas = Fatlass

Targets have letter designations above them, I use those.

Catapult with Ac20s = AC20 Cat
Catapult with Dual Gauss = gaussapult
Catapult with conventional lrms = tickle boats(post nerf)

Jagermech with 4ac2/ac5 = easy head shot
Jagermech with 2Ac20s = easy head shot
Jagermech with 4UAC5s =easy head shot with no ammo

Cent 9a 2 med laser 3 SRM6 = Bomb truck(prenerf)

Awesomes = Fail Barns

All boats = Weapon name then Mech name(PPC stalker etc)

Use the letter indicators, that way people don't have to scan every single target to see what they're using before they know what you're talking about.

I usually just use the alpha. beta and so on... Also IIRC the agreed upon term Gausscat or gassapult.... It sort of started the whole naming scheme for catapults

What Blue Hymn means is mech nicknames, not target designations.

I use splatcat and that's about it, no need to warn the pugs about anything else.

I would use streakcat if those still existed.

Dirty bird = Raven 3L w/ECM/SSRM
One armed bandit = Centurion
Stalker = Samoan (go for his knees)
Metal baby = Commando
Training Wheels = any mech with ECM.

My Group usally just calls them by their variant type.

"Watch out its a 4SP"! (pre srm nerf)...

But we do have a few good nick names that speak for themselves.

Not so Awesomes (not to hard to figure this on out.
100 ton shields (Atlas when you are using them for cover)
100 ton ECM shields or 100ton shield with umbrella
Poptarts (anyone using jumnpjets to snipe not just Cataphracts)
Chickens (ravens of any type)
Meatstick (any mech with no arms and no weapons running around)
Quasimoto (hunchbacks)

thats all I can think about right now. Somone shoudl come up with a good list of all our nick names when after this post gets big and do a vote and hae the offical nick name list! I really like whoever came up wth the "DakkaPhract"!!! GREAT!
