Didn't they say community warfare would start in May? Or am I confusing it with other content?

It makes me sad that MW is being handled by such a small studio ;) they just don't have the man lower to make changes at the pace it needs. While the small community is nice, its also sort of the biggest hindrance to development (dev community)

Well, it could be worse I suppose.

That being said, this game's going to fail if they don't have a proper tutorial level in by launch.

And I doubt they will... it's been fun guys.

Bryan mentioned on a recent NGNG podcast that soon that they will have a "training ground" tutorial level. So I think that particular fear is unfounded. The rest is a different issue however.

I recall they stated in June 2012 it may be in-game 90 days from Open Beta (which was October 29th, 2012):

http://mwomercs.com/...eveloper-update

"Once fans are completely familiar with creating their 'Mech and pilot trees, the depth of Community Warfare will be added, with the core of the community experience projected to be in-game within 90 days of open beta."

well that too, heck I should be a bondsman by now. But I didn't want to go there for fear of getting another thread jettisoned.

For release:

No DX11
Pay walls to use CW
No enhanced mech customization/decals
No DX11
No Clans
No map overhauls
No DX11
No DX11
No announced lobbies/new game modes/DX11

People running on xp must be thrilled.

OH, don't forget they aren't adding DX11 so this games going to continue to perform terribly and look worse than it did in early closed beta a year earlier.

Look on the bright side: if larger companies were interested in MWO, you might have gotten people like EA or Microsoft to handle it. Heck, Microsoft had the IP for a number of years and just marvel at all the stellar work they got done during that period!

Mech assault 2 is going to be dx11 before this game.

Just skimming through here and the negativity is depressing.

Am I the only one that was happy to see these announcements? I'm guessing Russ or Bryan will be writing a very awesome April Developer Update in light of these announcements.

Sure the detail is lacking, but we have some solid dates to start figuring out when/where this game is coming together.

Just think...a year after closed beta, where all we had was one map, four mechs, and glitches so bad you would cringe, we will have five times as many mechs, eight maps and alternates, community warfare, etc. etc.

Sure it isn't flawless, but no game is.

Uh, you know DX9 is more stable and performs better than DX11, right? There are still a lot of games being created with DX9 and do perfectly fine.

To be honest the excuse that they're a small developer only stretches so far, anyone who's familiar with Mount & Blade would know how much work even a small dev team (that is, husband and wife) can accomplish in a year with very limited funding, and that's using their OWN engine.

I for one am disappointed with the pace, and direction, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Coming from closed beta, not a whole lot has changed. More mechs, a couple maps. Big whoop. It's CW that will make or break the game, and we need more objective-based game modes with DEPTH.
