Prosperity al;ready cleared it up

"We really want people who participate in this to be as engaged as possible. And we'll probably require them to have a premium time account, as a kind of dedication level." That premium time account can be purchased in quantities ranging from daily to monthly to bi-annually, with the 30-day pack costing $10.

Well, if that's the case then it contradicts from what I heard from them earlier...

I know.. let it begin anew.

Actually, looks like it's ongoing.

And it doesn't change any of the previous thread chain. It's poor form to make sweeping comments, then personally attack someone who asks for your source. :)

can we lock this thread now that we know its all based on crap? lol

No because Prosperity redacted it. What he was told contradicts what they said in the article so as usual we now have no clue what's actually going on.

I think we should just forget about who attacked who. I made a mistake, others have made mistakes, we all make mistakes.

This thread isn't being locked, though. I contacted the Support Team regarding the topic of this media article and paying for Merc Coprs; I am asking to see if they plan on commenting or making some kind of feedback thread.

Yeah, asking for a source when one doesn't exist is a brutal assault :).

It happens. A lot of stuff is changing now. Sadly, not all for the better. I'm extremely disappointed that the WoT P2P model is being used for CW.

I also don't see why they don't just require a minimum amount of players to form a faction if that's what they want to do. If they want to monetize it, they should simply say so. Although, they didn't say just how much it would cost. I wouldn't mind dropping the lowest price of MC to start one, if that's what it took.

I agree.

Still I don't know why they're reintroducing any sort of economic transactions once they went the route of ditching R&R. The general public they want to attract doesn't care about any of the RP immersion type stuff, just more hats, gadgets and hero doodads.

Either go all in with the universe or just fagedaboutit.

I guess we really can't know what to think about it until we know the difference of Merc Corps vs joining a house, as the first will cost both a sign-up fee and a premium fee, while the other is free.

I think we need to stop shooting ProsPark because he was trying to be a messenger in good faith.

And shoot him because he's ProsPark.

Yeah.. Stone Profit tried that last night... didn't work out so well for him :) But Murph got me real good... "Meet me in the River" he says... with a dual AC20 Jager...

(I get called-out a lot...)

You all are getting your panties in a bunch.

What they described already works as it does now. Pay Premium time to get Premium bonuses. The only difference is there is an incentive to do more with those bonuses to get more bonuses.

That isn't pay to win, its pay to play. There is still a free game, meaning you click launch and shoot things. The competitive players will actually have to buy into the game to compete. Every other MMO is like this.

Everquest 2 for example does something worse. F2P characters cannot used Legendary or Fabled Gear. You CANNOT survive in level 90+ dungeons without such gear. Meaning no groups, no raiding unless you become a gold member. That would be akin to MWO requiring you to be premium members to use the mechlab, or use Trial Mechs only.

Simply said, there is a free portion of the game (Faction warfare and Lone Wolves), and pay to play Merc Corps. You probably won't even play against most paying players as a free player so there's no big deal here.
