No plans for mac support at this time (or probably any other). Just dual boot Windows on to your mac hardware and enjoy.

No. This game already has huge problems running on high end gaming PCs, POS macs are a whole nother ball game. i wouldnt expect a mac client for a long time.

Terrible recommendation for games. Good for some programs but not for games.

@Op look into creating a partion and running bootcamp, it comes with all intel macs. It will allow you to run windows natively.

My comp is on the higher end of middle ground and runs MWO just fine. Could be better, to be sure, but I've spent way more on much much worse.

Wow. I honestly thought Macs just did not work out for gaming.

I usually try to avoid Mac VS PC wars, but in this case I've got to ask:

If you knew you were going to be doing some gaming, why didn't you just put the money you spent on a Mac towards a better PC?

Probably never, why waste resources on 5% of the market.

They don't. With overpriced hardware, and no DirectX support (since DX is an MS product), make is NOT the OS of choice for the gamer. As much as we like to whine and complain about the newest version of windows when it comes out or MS in general, we will be getting that new version sooner or later, and MS knows it.

Bootcamp!

It's built into the newest Mac OS and it will do everything you need done to setup windows on its own partition. I run win8 dual booted on my i7 iMac and it works perfectly at max resolution.

Well, considering that Microsoft owns the Mechwarrior IP and licensed it to PGI on the condition that PGI isn't allowed to make it work on PS3, I don't suppose figuring out what they can/can't do with Macs should be too difficult.

MW:O won't be coming to MAC for (mostly) the same reasons it won't be coming for Linux.

Which is a shame, I'd love to run MW:O through Linux. My dream of typing "sudo apt-get install MWO" into the terminal will never happen ;_;

IGP dont have the licence for Mac support.
So MWO and MWT will never be on Mac ...

It's more of the engine than the license (MS makes tons of Mac compatible stuff, drivers for all their hardware and Office). CryEngine is DX only.

Macs can game just fine, my MacBook Pro (15" mid-2011 model, quad core i7, dedicated GPU and onboard graphics, 8GB RAM) handles Rage just fine at highest natively in OS X. It'll play MW:O in highest settings in Windows 7 Bootcamp just fine as well.

Don't buy a Mac if your desire is to switch out hardware to stay ontop of games for more than 3-4 years at highest settings.

You won't want to use anything like VMWare or Parallels, you're taking a hit in performance. Those work fine for office and productivity apps, not GPU intensive tasks like games.

Pick up a copy of Windows and use the Bootcamp assistant to install. It'll take about an hour and you'll be up and running.

PGI has stated the game will never come to MAC as the IP is owned my Microsoft.

Like putting Killzone on Xbox, or Halo on Playstation.
