Like others have mentioned, pretty sure the op doesn't realise he has armlock or whatever its called on. I was playing my k2 with dual ac20 just fine and noticed no differnce. I played about 2 minutes with armlock and turned that crap off. I bet its the same thing for the op

There is no 'official' data about mech max torso twists or torso twist speeds anywhere. But ... if you look at mechs we have right now in MWO (or at mechs we had in MW4 and MWLL) you'll see that most mechs will have their arms or smth else in the way if they try to do 360 torso twist. Catapults will not and that is my reason. Besides, I think in some of the BT books it was said that Catapults and Ravens had 360 torso twist, I'm not exactly sure tho, it was ages ago ... lol Last thing is that it actually makes no sense (from the mech designer / mech pilot point of view) to limit torso twist if there is a possiblity to make it 360 degrees.

It's like the Riflemen and the Jagermech's arms being able to flip and shoot into the back arc. It isn't in the data sheets that I know of, but they do it in lore and in the books.

As far as why you might not design a mech that way, you have a lot of connectors and motors that receive information from the pilot. It would be bad if your mech went 360 and ripped its wiring out or something. You are talking about a complex machine. Not to mention how the "muscular" system of mechs work...

I keep forgetting that actually is a factor. I remember disabling it ASAP to stop that, so yea, that is annoying.

Of course there is: the rulebooks of the boardgame. There is absolutely no 'Mech that can turn it's torso 360°. "I think" are the words which most human mistakes begin with! :P If it does make sense or not is another question... but that's why it's called the BattleTech Universe and not the LogicTech Universe. Does the max. range of 270 meters for a 120 mm AC Shell make sense? Nope! Todays 120 mmranges more far than that! If you know the artwork of the initial unseen BattleMech "Rifleman", you'd guess that it would be capable of having a 360° Torso Twist. But even in the Novels it had not!

You do realize that Catapult is meant to have 360 torso twist, don't you?

Maybe on a silly table top game. This isn't TT. This is a real time FPS. Things have to be altered for balance. Use your head.

Those are good points indeed. Still, we had mechs with 360 torso in MW games before and I hope we'll see them here as well.
