First of all I want to know why the BAP doesn't do what it's supposed to do......why isn't it giving all target data to allies within its radius. That would be a nice piece of equipment. It would be worth carrying on a light mech and maybe even on a large mech as well.

I think the idea of implementing a C3 network as an upgrade to existing units would be nice... but don't take something away from what we have now. Let someone bring a C3 if they want and enhance everyone else.

I can't believe people still think this way.

Yes, the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe is based on unit warfare, not solo combat. However, the majority of players of this game currently and probably at every point in it's future play solo. "Progressing" to a team as if that's some increase in skill is just plain stupid. You can join the game and join a premade at the same time. Also, being in a premade team is no indication whatsoever of skill and the biggest advantage most premades have at all is that they're using some out of game voice communication system which affords them easier awareness of the situation.

All your talk about joining a house or a clan or a merc corp is also completely meaningless. CW is not in and won't be for months and no one is very sure what it's actually going to look like. Aside from that even when CW is implemented I almost guarantee they're not going to remove the current hot dropping model. It's not going away. All your suggestions have no place in this game. Stop trying to force everyone to play like you!

they are changing the way dropping works, There will be a section like it is now, House warfare where you will be only dropping with other from the same house as you, and clan ware fare where you will only be dropping with others from your clan. So yes it will be changing and joining a clan or house is where you will be getting better equipment and mechs. it not just premades dropping it is being in the same group with the same people and learning how to work together as a unit over and over. PUGS drops will never be much more that and unorganized training area for rookies to be recruited from or a good place to test builds.

Sedit for this game to be successful it will need to attract a steady flow of new players. Making their first experiences as positive as possible should be the goal. Please stop posting your drivel. You make clan players look bad.

I guess I am from a different era when you were expected to start with nothing and work your way up. Now people expect to start with everything, I can recall games that were so hard people could not finish them but the fun was in the trying. It is happening everywhere schools not allowing kids to compete and teaching them they are all equal, this is spreading to the rest of the world and people do not think others should be rewarded for hard work. My opinion does not make anyone look bad as I am only representing myself an my views. I believe that easy gaming is boring and will loose more people. Play it an learn how to be good and then get special features to enhance your game play. Eve Online was great like this, here is your ship hope you can figure out how to fly, by the way you can be killed and loose everything you have, have a nice day. This is still a very successful game, partly because they do not cater to the people who think they should start with everything handed to them.

Something about uphill both ways in the snow, hail, and tears of loved ones.

That's fine for single player and co-op games, however with PvP everyone needs to be on a level playing field if you actually want to get new people into the game.

This is first and foremost a PvP game.

As an 'Elite' Founder you never was forced to play in a trial mech. Don't act like you 'worked your way up' from the bottom, because you didn't.

EVE doesn't start new players out in 0.0 space either. They also hand out several free ships if you do the training missions that take the new player by the hand and show them everything.

Using the system the OP suggested just hurts PUGs, and would not effect pre-made players at all. Why would you encourage a system that made the game easier for you and your clan and harder for everyone else? Sounds like you are they one looking for free edges.

it does not kill the new player experience, it gives them some to look forward to, why does everyone think everyone should be equal without the work. pugs or lone wolfs should be ill equipped as they do not have the backing of a house or clan. If you want better equipment and to start winning battles join a house or clan. This is not Call of Duty it is a team oriented game so join one.

You know, they have this thing called Community Warfare coming in a few months, right? Why handicap a player who has NO interest in that aspect of the game, or force them to join a faction. Or is this another "I need a crutch with which to beat down noob puggers!" rant? Forcing someone to play the way YOU want is a pretty good approach to not having any players around. It kills me how a LOT of people on these forums feel they have the right and expectation to force their view of how the game should be played/designed on everyone else, and if you don't agree with them, you're an *****.

Take the whole 3rd person view thing. I mean do people seriously think 3rd person view will destroy the game, AND be the end of the world as we know it?!? I haven't bought any camo schemes, and I probably never will. You know why? Because I can't friggin see it in game, that's why! I don't care how OTHER people think my mech looks, but I care, but right now, I really don't, because I can't see it outside of the mech bay, or after I'm a smoldering scrap heap in a match. Let the people who develop and design games for a living do this, so it's done right. That way, we don't have somebody's half-baked "vision for the game" screwing everything up.

Community Warfare IS the game Sierra19, if people have no interest in that mode I don't think they're going to find much (if anything) to do.

I really doubt there will end up being a deathmatch planet. I really doubt they will do anything with Solaris. I really doubt there will be any 'doesn't matter' battles like now - every battle will be on a planet that can be lost, and losing will negatively affect someone.

At some point I assume lone wolves will have to pick who they're working for. Maybe not a permanent choice, but they'll have to pick which color army they are earning tickets for.

Lone wolves will be the 'filler' in House armies. In the CW thread it states they won't even be able to use Loyalty points. I really hope they have come up with a new system than the one they told us about originally.

I invite you to make a new account and grind in trial mechs until you get a mech, then customize it.

The new player experiences IS TERRIBLE, and its worse than that will be for you, becasue you understand that the trial mechs suck, you already understand heat, range, and what chassis to buy first and what you need on that chassis, Imagine doing that as a new player asking yourself over and over "Why do I SUCK so bad", then blowing 5 million cbills on a engine that you can't build a decent load out around in the mech you FINALLY bought, so you sell the engine for less than half price and grind up on the stock engine until you can buy the engine that your mech really needed, only to find out you NEEDED that engine for a build in another variant of that mech that you need to get exp in to not SUCK.

Your idea would make what is already the WORST new player experience of any game I have played WORSE.

I think thats his idea. No casual players allowed. Don't bother playing unless you already have entrance set up for some Merc Company. Only the 'true die hard' fans should be allowed to play.

First you say they are changing the way dropping works then you go ahead and say there will be a section that works the way it does now. So, which is it? They're not changing dropping, they're just going to add new modes. Since the current implementation isn't going away I stand by my statements. The suggestions you've made have no place in this game.

Furthermore, there is no level of skill or progression involved in joining a player run organization and solo players will always outnumber premade players. So, all of your arguments for a harder game and such are meaningless. Challenge is not the issue. The issue is that the way you suggest the game should be is not conducive to solo play and solo play is not going away.

No, he needs some new players to play... otherwise, who is he going to feel superior and condescending towards?
