I do hope that the ability to recolor the Hero/Founders 'mechs comes in this patch - that'll be really cool!

If only there was a way to buy mechs other than C-Bills, while also supporting MWO while you were at it...
if buying 2 stock mechs didnt cost like an AAA game people would buy them
there is no reason any stock should cost more than 5$, ~25$ is an insane price, especially since there is no rent option like in blacklight retribution with their weapons for instance

DFA is still in the game. Seen it performed successsfully twice in the last weeks. One accidental and one on purpose. Both killing the mech they landed on.
Collisions still do damage, they just don't knock you over anymore.

Just try it yourself.
Take a teammate (ask him before you try it) and run through his mech. You'll notice damage to both mechs (mostly on the legs).
Now use a jump capable mech and jump on the team mate. Don't slow your fall, drop like a stone. Again both mech will take damage.

Aint that the truth...Im already nerdraging...but I kinda saw this coming. Told my friends that it wouldnt surprise me if they released the hero mech first to generate a little buzz and make a little cash for them and then later release the other variants.
Dont get me wrong, Im not bashing having to pay for a mech, I am however unintersted in a pink mech that I can recolor as of right now. My friends biggest gripes would be having a mech you can elite.

I actually saw a Hunchback who had been stripped of all weapons (total zombie) ram a 1 leg Stalker to death a few days ago. Luckily the Stalker's other leg was already on internals when the Hunch lost his guns. Was probably the single most impressive kill I have seen in this game.

Yes, but for the next two weeks, unless this thing is amazingly overpowered, it'll probably be the weakest assault mech on the field. Patience - I get it... But this community is going to form instant perceptions about the highlander from what they see out I this mech (when it'll literally be apples and oranges). First impressions last a long time on these forums...

I would expect more reasonably that there will be a hero mech released for one of the existing chassis, and then later this month, the Highlander chassis will release, with the Highlander hero mech coming the next time a hero mech release is scheduled.
edit: I'd bet we're due for a Light class hero mech, as the hero Highlander will be an Assault class hero mech next time around, and that would balance out the hero mechs if they release a Light one this week.
We already have a Commando hero, and a Jenner Founders mech, and I hope it's not a Raven hero since that would just lead to even more 3Ls on the field as people play or grind the Raven chassis more than usual. So probably a Spider hero variant, which could actually be interesting.
