Past Two Days Game Is Suddenly Unplayable Due To Lag.

I took a break from playing MWO for about a week and a half. I attempted to begin playing again yesterday, but the game is almost completely unplayable due to lag. I am having severe teleporting/rubber banding across the entirety of every match I attempt to play and I am frequently disconnected from the server. My ping is spiking from 80-2000+
Nothing with my internet has changed, and I can play other online games with little to no lag. Before this I generally had a consistent ping of 40-80 with little lag and only periodic ping spikes (once or twice every 10 games only lasting for a second).
I emailed support. But with things this way I will be unable to play the new patch tomorrow Help?
Also, I'm not sure if this is the correct section. If not, could a mod please move it. Thanks.

- Increased server load due to the double XP weekend.
- Spamhaus is getting DDoSed again and the traffic is using the same nodes as you are.

Have you checked locally yet? ISP, your router/modem, backbone out from your ISP? Try doing a tracert to PGI and see where the higher pings kick in.

I ran a trace route to what I believe is PGI's server. My response times are all between 30 and 100 ms. So there does not seem to be a problem between me and PGI. Also, I have no problem playing a few of the other games I have tried.

I can make it through most games; but get pretty regular rubberbanding and lag freezes throughout. Doesn't sound like yours; but it does seem they are having a lag/rubberbanding issue on their end.

I'm wondering if everyone else having lag has that issue too, where a firewall didn't effect the game before but now it does.

Well, it is essentially the same. Mine is just worse I get the lagging/rubberbanding too and then I get disconnected.

I will test this now and post my result.
edit: Sadly the firewall idea has no noticeable effect.
